Fantastic location. Will come here again!

I have so many good things to say about Shore. It’s a beautiful hotel, smells great, and staff are friendly, happy, and helpful. Parking is easy and a great value (has in and out privileges). Hotel feels safe, and location is prime. You’re across the pier and walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, and obviously the beach. I love the bike rental they provide, that made our Santa Monica visit so much better and I would stay here again because of their easy to use bikes and the location!! The room is modern, spacious, and beautiful. They’re not your tacky cookie cutter large chain hotel rooms with the outdated carpets. We are 100% starting here again when we return to Santa Monica. (We didn’t utilize the pool or other amenities but they looked great!)

Beautiful views and great location

The grounds were beautiful, the restaurant was really nice and the location was great. Views from the room were spectacular. We were able to take advantage of the onsite boat rental and water sports which was very convenient. The room itself was a little run down and tired and could use an upgrade or renovation. The front desk wasn’t particularly helpful when we arrived late due to flight delays, but the daytime staff was better.

Nice hotel. Small rooms. Area around the Santa Monica Pier is crazy and extremely crowded and noisy on the weekends. would not stay there again on the weekend.

Mixed review

I stayed at the Shore Hotel with my teenager for one night. I was hoping for an early check in since we arrived to the hotel by 2pm. Check in time is not until 4pm but my room was not ready until 5:30pm. Staff was apologetic and they game me some free items such as parking and a drink but I'd rather have had my room at 4pm since we were only there for 1 night. Overall the hotel seemed understaffed and very full. The lobby bathroom wasn't super clean. Apparently the delay with my room was due to lack of housekeeping and while I waited, the bartender seemed overwhelmed and frazzled and it took 20+ min to get my free drink. The room itself was quite nice, though super loud with patio door open so we needed to close it. Staff was all very nice and helpful. But it wasn't quite the relaxing experience I was hoping for. It's a very busy, urban setting. The pool is not private - can be seen from the sidewalk and the public restaurant, though there's some privacy glass. I wanted to rent a bike in the early morning but (of course) they didn't have enough bikes and already had a reservation for early morning - making me wonder if they have only a few bikes - which would be silly since the bike path is right there. I've been to other hotels that have dozens of bikes for guests to use. So overall, I'd say not a great value for the high price.

My husband and I loved the location of this property. Central to everything on the strip, You can walk right out the door and across the street to the beach and Santa Monica pier. If you stay in a room on the front side facing the beach, the patio doors do a good job buffering out much of the noise, otherwise I’m pretty sure it’s quiet. Hotel breakfast was awesome and priced competitively for other areas around. Excellent portion size. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I felt safe. You could only access the elevator with your room with your room key. We will definitely stay here again!!

I enjoyed my stay, & my only REAL gripe was the cell phone reception. I really needed my cellphone to work to check in on my mother who was in the hospital rehabbing, but the reception kept making my calls drop.

This hotel made the entire vacation that much better! The hotel itself was beautiful with breathtaking views and close proximity to amazing restaurants and shops. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were also so kind and friendly, they sang happy birthday to us with a complimentary dessert, and otherwise always made sure we had what we needed during the entire trip. I will definitely be returning here
