Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Shower room was very spacious and room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very satisfying, great choice and more than enough to eat. We believe our stay was good value for me money. Thank you for making our stay safe.

The hotel is a beautiful old mansion set in the countryside yet only minutes from the centre of Aberdeen. The wealthy suburb of Cults is very near if you follow one of the small lanes across from the hotel entranceway Cults has a variety of shops and restaurants if you are not eating in the hotel. Covid rules were strictly observed. This included the room not being serviced during our two night stay, but this didn’t bother us. The room was also a little dusty as I don’t think it had been used for a while. You could not have alcohol in the restaurant, but room service was available and some hardy souls sat outside to have drinks. We just took some booze with us. The staff were all very charming and the food was excellent. This was the second time we have visited and I’m sure we’ll return.

Location and grounds amazing. Very dramatic building. Staff really excellent. Room very spacious, great bed, but a bit tired. Wi-Fi non existent in room. Was offered another. Went to try it. No Wi-Fi again. Disappointing as i had some work to do. Staff were very, very apologetic and ofdered me the library. Key card to get in our room didnt worm 3 times. Again staff very, very kind but its a pity it haplened at all. All in all a nice stay but with littke niggly things marring it. Ill say again, the staff were most excellent in trying to help. Thank you

The room was extremely spacious, comfortable and very clean. The building is set in lovely private grounds in a quiet location which we enjoyed. The food was amazing (no wonder the restaurant has won awards) and the staff very attentive. There are a few lovely walks around the hotel (accessed from RGU Campus) and the number 2 bus service takes you straight to the City Centre and back (The bus stop is outside the Student accommodation opposite gate 3 to the RGU Campus).

Very impressed with the hotel. It is set in lovely grounds. They have taken care to make sure it is Covid secure. The room was large and comfortable.

Food was amazing

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Staff were excellent. We had a lovely dinner and ight stay. The only disappointment was an overcooked breakfast that was well below what we'd expected after a lovely dinner. Would still return though as that can be easily resolved.

An excellent stay from start to finish. Very proactive on Covid measures and everything worked well. The staff at reception, in the bar and restaurant were absolutely first class. All staff wearing masks all the time but they went out of their way to be communicative and friendly. They deserve a lot of credit.

Check in was smooth and hassle free. Clear instructions given about using sanitiser, evening dinner times and breakfast times as well. Turned out we’d been given an upgrade as it was our anniversary. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. Excellent stay.
