Avid Hotels Milwaukee West Waukesha, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is BRAND NEW owned by Holiday Inn. We were the very first to use a wheelchair accessible room so I could get into the shower. Well, the floor is supposed to tilt to the drain in the shower. This one, the floor is tilted inward, but the ridge between the shower floor and the bathroom was slight. This allowed water to move from the shower floor into the bathroom. The bathroom had no second drain (design flaw for an accessible unit). After the shower, I pulled back the curtain and the entire bathroom was flooded, water ran into the hallway and even covered part of the bedroom. Fortunately, the room was not carpeted. Management responded very quickly and moved us to a new room with anything else we needed. Kudos to Chris for an excellent response. I also asked when check is and Chris said, "Any time you want!!" This is a VERY BASIC attractive hotel. No fridge, microwave, closet, chairs (except one office-type chair) which did not make for comfortable sitting time for TV etc. The rate was for a mid-range hotel where such extra comforts are normal in a room. The TV was huge - estimate 75" and was very nice! With all of this said, it was a very nice property, VERY clean, and the service was exceptional. For a basic overnight stay, it is perfect. I would not recommended it for an extended stay of more than two days due to the lack of room features.
