Bait & Switch; Extremely poor

We made the reservation partly based on available breakfast and laundry facilities. We were notified after the reservations that neither were available due to covid, even though every other restaurant and hotel that we stayed at had these services. When we checked in the front desk brought it up that we should receive a credit but could not do it. There were sheetrock holes and patches everywhere, and the tub spout pulled out of the wall when operating. The staff was nice, but very frustrated with the ownership/management as well. We all understand the difficulties of the current times, so the employees should not be blamed or treated badly, but we will never stay at a Baymont again.

The receptionist was very friendly and checked us in quickly. They don't serve breakfast anymore, but they have vending machines, and a Applebee's right next door and if you tell them you're staying at the hotel you get a discount.

One of the requirements I had was to pick somewhere that served breakfast because it was going to be snowing heavily the next morning and from experience, everything shuts down around here when it snows. It said on the website they had breakfast. I go to check in and there's signs all over showing no breakfast. Not a recent change, this has been since covid. I've stayed in plenty of places that have gone back to serving breakfast since covid. The room looks like it was half way through a remodel and they gave up. The walls had large areas that hadn't been painted where furniture had been behind it. The table between the beds had holes where the lamp WAS mounted before. The carpet had a big seam where some was replaced. There was no caulking around the vanity, just huge gaps with drywall behind. I wanted no smoking. I get off the elevator on the 2nd floor and the entire floor smelled like a hookah lounge.

The sign says they are in the middle of upgrading the rooms. Maybe they are but in our room, things were left unfinished. Missing paint, loose fixtures in the bathroom, and an old microwave. Overall the room and hotel was good. The suite had a separate bedroom and a living room and very spacious. The staff was very nice too.

Property was clean and wellmanaged. Restaurants were nearby. We slept well and comfortably.

The check in was quick with courteous service. I arrived before 3:00pm and the desk clerk found a room for me.
