Great staff and the mountain views are awesome. Great stay if you want to get away and have less distractions

We were grad we could arrived much earlier than initially planned due to Mt. Evans's road was closed. So we could go to the restaurant and stores where about 15 min away to the town of Estes Park. We also had to wake up extremely early in the morning to get in to the Rocky Mountain N.P. before 6am due to tickets were required and sold out during gate opening time. Room was very nice, cozy lodge. Except we had very hard time to find out how to get water to the shower LOL. I don't know about other people but we've never seen this tricky lever before. We had to call to the after hour number for it LOL. There would be great if there were refrigerator in the rooms because there were no stores or vender machine around there.

DAO is a beautiful and remarkably clean location in an amazing mountain location. The staff is friendly, everything is comfy and the location is ideal for staying close to local attractions but not so close to where you lose the ambiance of being outdoors. Covid rules change the visit and obviously limit interaction with others and certain activities but the stay was still memorable and we'll be back again sometime in the future.

Our stay was wonderful! Friendly staff, nice cabin, and an absolutely beautiful area. The heater is a bit loud and squeaky though.

It's a BEAUTIFUL property. However, I will now check the list of amenities everywhere I stay from now on. There was NO tv in the room. There was NO coffee pot, microwave, cups. No AC. The people at the hotel were friendly, but wanted to make sure we weren't going to make any extra noise. I'm almost 40 and had to sign a waiver saying I'd be quiet. Not a problem for me. Just thought it was a bit over the top. Also, the bathroom had a used washcloth draped over the shower curtain bar, and a dried liquid soap residue under the soap holder. Not a huge deal, just thought with a pandemic it would've been cleaner.

Stunning views, historic property. Great location.

Loved the location away from the crowds in Estes Park. Loved the solitude of the nearby hiking trails. The main downside was the dining room was closed due to COVID which of course is not the staff's fault. Brought my own coffee maker.

I loved the location and access to surrounding trails. Although I get the rustic thing it could stand some updates.
