Dao House

DAO is a beautiful and remarkably clean location in an amazing mountain location. The staff is friendly, everything is comfy and the location is ideal for staying close to local attractions but not so close to where you lose the ambiance of being outdoors. Covid rules change the visit and obviously limit interaction with others and certain activities but the stay was still memorable and we'll be back again sometime in the future.

Our stay was wonderful! Friendly staff, nice cabin, and an absolutely beautiful area. The heater is a bit loud and squeaky though.

It's a BEAUTIFUL property. However, I will now check the list of amenities everywhere I stay from now on. There was NO tv in the room. There was NO coffee pot, microwave, cups. No AC. The people at the hotel were friendly, but wanted to make sure we weren't going to make any extra noise. I'm almost 40 and had to sign a waiver saying I'd be quiet. Not a problem for me. Just thought it was a bit over the top. Also, the bathroom had a used washcloth draped over the shower curtain bar, and a dried liquid soap residue under the soap holder. Not a huge deal, just thought with a pandemic it would've been cleaner.

Stunning views, historic property. Great location.

Loved the location away from the crowds in Estes Park. Loved the solitude of the nearby hiking trails. The main downside was the dining room was closed due to COVID which of course is not the staff's fault. Brought my own coffee maker.

Very basic for the cost, no amenities in the room, couldn’t even get a cup of coffee. Beautiful view of the mountains.

Great location, interesting hotel concept, I guess when they have dining facilities open they are great. But honesty we were unpleasantly surprised how cheap management was, having hot bothered to supply at least 2 star amenities ( fridge, micro wave and coffee machine). How are your guests supposed to survive if you closed everything on the premises and the room is not equipped? Otherwise the place is nice, clean and well maintained. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable. Common areas are great to chill out
