Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Memphis Southwind

Very disappointed. We have stayed before but after this time we will not be staying again. Our room door didn’t shut all way. They were nice and gave us a different room. However, our new room the lights flickered, tv was crooked and the remote didn’t work half the time, towels were dirty, the carpet had a huge white stain, the bed spread was torn and there were feet marks on the sheets.

Holiday Inn has an excellent rate with n when it comes to cleanliness. However, customer service is a big deal when it comes to me. The staff was very rude when it was time to check in they will make you wait until 3:05pm when check in is at 3:00pm. They are never at the desk they are always in the back room. They internet went down and the front desk clerk said she couldn’t check me in and that I just need to “request a refund” With and attitude. I explain why I needed the room and couldn’t request a refund. They threw me in a room and the tv didn’t work. They also beat on your door way before check in time like 8am and check out is not until 11am. This have happened to me twice and I will not be returning here! Horrible staff!!! I would give this hotel a 0 if I could!

Hotel was extremely clean to my satisfaction. Afternoon staff was just there..Evening and morning staff was very nice.. Beds and room were clean and comfortable. Air conditioner about froze us out...

Hotel is very nice overall. I apparently came through at one of those bad times. Checked into a room and the light around the mirror was out. No light to shave or for my companion to apply makeup. Also the microwave oven was filthy. I looked like an enchilada exploded. We were moved to another room, and left for family visits. When we returned at 1:00 am the electronic key didn't work. After an extended time in the lobby, after being told no other rooms were available, we were placed in another room across the hall from the room we had been transferred to where all out belongs were locked in. We waited in the temporary room (that was not available because they were all booked up) for another hour or so until a manager could come in. The manager came in finally and she was able to get the door unlocked. We finally got to bed about 3:00 am. I think all this is a lot. This is a good hotel, just needs better management. Good management with a well trained crew would know about anything that is wrong in all rooms because a well trained crew would be reporting things like outages, and a good crew would never leave a room without thoroughly cleaning. Also, someone should be checking behind crews, or at least having them think that random checks by management are standard. Thinking about applying for management job at this hotel.

The staff is always friendly, courteous and professional. The housekeeping staff ensures that your room is at the highest quality of clean. The prices are reasonable and that is why I recommend to family and friends.

I always stay here when I come in town. Little things such as the bathroom lighting mean a lot to me. The staff was also super friendly.

Arrived to find no towels in the bathroom and only one coffee that wasn’t decaf, but hotel staff made it right quickly. Front dest staff are good, but housekeeping needs to do better.

Pool closed when told it was open. No continental breakfast as promised and smoking at front door. And apparently quiet time only applies to inside so the management will not get people away from your windows who are drunk and making noise at 1045pm so you can sleep

It was a nice stay, very comfortable and clean.
