Hyatt House Columbus / OSU Short North

Staff was friendly, the facility was clean and comfortable, easy to get to with plenty of parking. Our only complaint would be that, for some reason, the kitchen closed early. Unwilling to go back out (it was after 8 p.m., kitchen was supposed to be open until 9), we settled for a couple of Lean Cuisine frozen dinners from the hotel market which were wholly unsatisfactory. The lavish variety at breakfast rather made up for it, however.

Broken exhaust fan bathroom

The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working. The bathroom door is a slider on a track that did not provide enough sound privacy. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable.

Family Getaway

Came in town for the OSU Spring game with family. The location was great...close to shopping and restaurants. The gym was amazing and the activities on the patio were perfect for the family to relax.

mixed bag

The room was nice with a good view over the river. But the guests next door were very loud way into the night, shouting and screaming. I called reception to complain but they did not fix the problem. Our other issue was with the sheets which were very rough and itchy -- pretty low calibre I think.

Looks great...sounds LOUD

I wanted to love this hotel. It's new, there's lot of common areas, the rooms were gorgeous. The staff was friendly and very helpful. But the building is very new, and constructed so that you can hear everything that your neighbors are doing. EVERYTHING. If your neighbors flush their toilets, walk across the floor, have conversations, watch TV, or...anything else (hint hint), you're going to hear all about it. Which was really fun with my teenager in the room. The fan in the HVAC does not run continuously, so you have no hope of white noise, and there is no fan in the bathroom. Plus the sliding door on the bathroom is LOUD, so you will wake your companions (unless the neighbors have done that already.) Also breakfast was lackluster and...they charge you for it. Check the fine print those hidden fees, I was hit up for $30 when I checked in.

Hotel was overbooked and we did not get the room we booked. We booked a suite to sleep 4 and got a standard room that sleeps 2. One person slept on the floor. Unexceptable!!!

Disappointed.

We arrived at 3:30 with a guaranteed 3:00 check time. The room was not ready. We were in town for the UFC fights, but because the room was not ready until 4:40, we missed several fights and our reservation at a nearby restaurant. The room was filthy, there was smudge marks still on the mirror and the shower didn't even look like it was cleaned.
