Back in time

A unique hôtel in the heart of the old city a few minutes walk from the Hospice. Beautiful room and bathroom with special floor lighting. Lovely breakfast as well. All the amenities were perfect. But no elevator so you need to climb lots of stairs

The property is one of a kind and located right in the centre of Beaune. The lounge area has a wonderful ambience and is a great place to have a glass of wine and relax. Breakfast was very good, with made to order options in addition to the buffet.

We were put on the top floor of the building and the heat was nearly unbearable, even in September. The room was like an oven. The beds were in a loft and the air conditioning vents were on the lower floor so - because hot air rises - there was essentially no air conditioning in the loft. The room was absolutely horrible. The receptionist didn't even ask if we had enjoyed the night the next morning when I paid the bill - I think she knew that she had put us in an oven-like room.

The property is centrally located to the sights, cafes and shops. The hotel is absolutely charming and unique. Thiery greeted us upon arrival and was quite helpful and charming. The breakfast is a wonderful start to the day. We were not ready to check out!

the hotel is lovely, the staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrive.Breakfast in the old building was great. The only surprise which should not have been one given the building age is the spiral stairway from the middle age, no elevator which can be challenging for older travelers.

quick stay

the rooms were clean and the lobby was authentically beautiful. my kids had fun in the pool. location was excellent in walking distance of all the sites. they set up a private wine tour for us that was very informative and tasty. we only wished that there was an elevator as the stairs are quite narrow and steep.

Exquisite

What a wonderful place this is. Twelfth century Abbey so well preserved and sympathetically turned into an exquisite hotel. Staff were very helpful. Only four tables for dinner so unfortunately could not eat in but receptionist very helpful in advising where to go. Central location and free public car park very close. Peaceful, quiet and would happily return.

Very disappointed not to be able to eat at the hotel; we asked nearly a week in advance only to be told the restaurant was fully booked. The room was not good at all: top floor, up three flights of spiral staircase (not easy with luggage) and the room was split in two. A tiny lower part with a small table and one upholstered high back chair, a fridge balanced on a stool and a hard chair. To go to bed there is a really steep wooden, open slat staircase - lethal. I caught my foot in the gap and gashed my instep. This is not an accessible hotel. On the plus side, the beds were really comfortable with lovely linen, the bathroom was small but perfectly formed and Betty on reception in the morning was charming. However, for the price paid the room really wasn't great.

The property was very difficult to find and it was not possible to drive to it. You needed to park some distance away and walk. Also it is not an Abbaye as the name suggests, but had been the lodgings of the prior of the Abbaye.
