Lovely stay

We had a lovely stay. The bed was huge and really comfy. The hotel is a little tired and there was a broken side light in our room, but it was really comfortable otherwise. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the leisure facilities were really nice.

Extremely disappointing stay and left early

The pictures for the hotel make it look modern and clean aswell as comfortable however our experience was quite the opposite. We checked in to our room on Friday 15th April after booking ourselves a weekend away. On first appearances our room was dirty, uncomfortable and the doors did not lock. There were dead bugs along the windowsills and the wall beside the bed was filthy. The television did not work and overall we just felt extremely disappointed. We spoke to the main receptionist who allocated us to another room on the 14th floor, the locks all worked but again the room was not clean. The safe did not work and two of the lifts were out of order meaning we had a long wait when we left to go out and explore Cardiff. The beds were 2 single beds pushed together which made it difficult and uncomfortable for my partner and I to sleep. Most of the furniture was damaged or chipped and overall just needs refurbishment. The hotel bar was out of use on the Saturday due to a wedding taking place and the swimming pool was often busy due to it being open to the public aswell as hotel guests. For the high amount we paid we expected a higher quality room and stay after staying at sister Mercury hotels which were exceptionally better. My partner and I actually left on the Saturday despite paying for 2 nights as we did not want to stay another might in such an awful hotel. Worst one I have ever stayed at by far.

Not the best

Wasnt a great start, upon arrival our tv and telephone in the room were broken! Eventually got moved rooms when the maintenance guy started taking tvs off walls! Paid £260 for 1 night and was not worth the money.

Great room…and stay…shame about bar

Great stay, really nice room, hotel has some great amenities. Staff was very helpful. Was there for the weekend but had to leave the bar on the Saturday because it got over filled and became a party atmosphere even when it definitely isn’t equipped for it…struggled to even get a drink due to people off the street always wanting drinks.

Breakfast/restaurant

Happy with the facilities. Breakfast was extremely poor…. Long wait for the cooked breakfast. Seemed very unorganised. Poorly cooked food as it was rushed!! Could do with better food/service.

Overall very good stay. Changing rooms in swimming pool were not ideal. Nowhere to change except in toilets. Had a great massage and facial. Could not find menu for restaurant so didn’t use. Ideally situated and staff excellent and helpful.

Not as good as imagined

Good sized room, hotel clean, pool area decent. Bed very uncomfortable, woke up with back pain. Pool full of children which wasnt ideal.
