Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Marion

Nice clean hotel. Due to COVID-19 we couldn’t use pool or hot tub or have breakfast. They have a grab and go bag prepared with water, fruit and snacks.

It was just ok. Nothing special, especially since COVID-19 has shut down most amenities

My overall stay was good the cleanliness level was good in the rooms...I thought the carpets in the elevators and hallways could have been cleaner...the King room was smaller than I expected

I wasnt informed about any of the amenities were going to be closed. I understood since the whole COVID thing is going on. My biggest disappointment was our "continental breakfast". I had no idea it was going to be a hostess cake, a cutie orange, and granola bar bagged liked if we were going to a 2nd grade field trip to the public library which brought my rated room to $86 a night when I previously had a $68 room rate without uncluding the contentinal breakfast that the hotel wouldnt pre-rate it back to. On top of that, the mini frodge we had wasnt working in our room so they suggested for us to change rooms instead, which was a inconvenience since we traveled half a day on the road to rest and not have to expect to relocate rooms. On TOP of that, I needed to print out a document last minute to do a personal errand at the DMV and their computer they had set out for the guests should be put through a wall of how glitchy, slow and old the entire setup of the computer system... It couldnt even read my jump drive whatsoever or just run properly at all. I ended up had to enter the back area of the front desk to print my document because an employee let me. Needless to say, I feel like stay was disappointing. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.

When booked I did not realize pool was closed so the kids was bummed that we could not swim. Staff was nice and room was clean.

Other than the staff, unfortunately I have nothing to recommend about this hotel. The first thing to greet me was a musty odor in the lobby which could be smelled even though I was wearing a mask during COVID. The room had peeling wallpaper, a stench that can only be described as musty old cigarette stench covered over by cheap perfume. I cannot fathom how they have such great reviews. I would never stay here again. Kudos to the very friendly staff and the clean looking sheets. This hotel is exorbitantly priced for the shabby conditions. The property is in serious need of repair and odor removal.

I liked the fact that this has been a go to hotel for me for many personal trips over the years. I am familiar with the hotel and staff. I disliked that fact that where, a few years ago this was the example in my mind for what a basic hotel should be, now this place is looking run down and the hotel room was just not cleaned properly. It looked like the cleaning person went in and made the bed, straightened up a little but did no real cleaning. Also, Marriot beds used to be the industry standard for comfort in my opinion. This bed was not comfortable at all and even though it was advertised as a King, it was not, it was a Queen that they put in a King Room. Overall I am disappointed to see this hotel go downhill since it was my go to hotel for this area. I will probably try the Holiday Inn across the street next time I come through Marion. Also disappointed that, even with COVID-19 lurking around, the cleaning staff didn't take the time to clean the room even to a basic level.

We were traveling across the country and we stayed at 5 different hotels. This one was the best of them all! Clean easy to get in and out. We had our puppy traveling with us. They welcomed her and she did great! We will be back!

Free parking, great lighting, staff was amazing. Fried wasn’t really cold, and my key only worked the first night. Fixed quickly and easily. Hotel was very quit and relaxing.
