Decent hotel, great location and an amazing view of the city and the river

Everything was good. Only thing that I would complain is the fact that the hotel didn't have air conditioning. The hotel is located just next to the old down and one can just walk within 5-10 minutes.

The Hotel Am Terrassenufer offers a convenient and comfortable base from which to explore the remarkable city of Dresden and its surrounding landscape. I encountered friendly and helpful staff, my room was spacious, elegant and bright, and the breakfasts were something to look forward to. The hotel offers a laundry service, and a restaurant which is open on most days of the week. Just walking distance from the historic Innere Altstadt. If you can, try and secure a room with a view over the River Elbe. I would be pleased to stay here again when I visit Dresden again.

You can walk to the Altstadt in 10 minutes or to the VW Transparent Factory in 15 min and have a room with gorgeous views over the River and city by staying here. Very easy to find if you are driving and even though the hotel does not have it's own parking lot/garage, there is street parking available next to the hotel for up to 3 days which you pay for at a pay station and leave the receipt on your dashboard. We didn't even use our car during our stay as we could walk to the Altstadt in 10 minutes and to the VW Transparent Factory in 15 min. As the hotel is located right on the edge of the Elbe River the rooms have beautiful views, especially awesome at night. The riverwalk is lovely and easily accessible. Typical of European hotels, the breakfast is expensive so we only did that once. There is no coffee pot in the room, however, and the closest coffee shop is about an 8 minute walk. There are 2 grocery stores nearby and you can catch a tram about 2 blocks way. We would definitely stay here again!
