AC Hotel by Marriott Washington DC Capitol Hill Navy Yard

Modern contemporary room located walking distance to Capitol. Only complaint is that need softer feather pillows as alternative. Would also have been nice to have morning coffee in lobby. Valet service is helpful.

Great Hotel- No coffee

Solo traveler does not get much attention

Make sure that you have a reservation for the rooftop bar if you are planning to visit it days before. There is no info about the hotel amenities in the room, so ask the hostess all you want to know at check-in time, as they did not tell me a word about amenities.

Family DC trip

Awesome room. Very comfortable. Included breakfast with stay. Only scrambled eggs were cold but rest of selections were great.

AC Hotel Marroit

The stay itself was good however, the floors were very dusty. The door to the restroom was also dirty. There were dried drippings of something on the door. They did not appear to be clean. The shower tile and shower floor were not cleaned. There was hair throughout the shower. The toilet paper was 1 ply instead of a 2 or 3 ply. For a hotel charging high dollar should at least provide 2 or 3 ply toilet paper. The thermostat was hard to operate to regulate the temperature in the room. Once the heat was on, there was a burning smell coming into the room. This hotel claims to have santized the room prior to our visit but there were enough issues found that we sanitized the room ourselves.

The check-in time at this hotel is 3 p.m. We arrived at 5 p.m. and the rooms were not ready. The temperature of the shower water was luke warm. I had reported the problem to the front desk, and they dispatched an engineer, but it appeared that this was the standard temperature at this hotel. My kids complained that the water wasn't hot enough and that they didn't want to shower the next day. In addition, we had a problem with the thermostat in the room. There was no heat. I had to bring the problem to the front desk. I expected some kind of credit or a complimentary, but nothing was offered.

Arrived two hours after check-in time but had to wait nearly another two to get into the room. We were only offered the lobby bathroom to "freshen up." We had to insist that the hotel buy us a round of drinks at the lobby bar. Firmly inquired about room status after 90 minutes or so and got an accessible room resembling the non-accessible room that we paid for. I know the service industry is short right now, but this operation is just not ready, still surprising given that it's a corporate operation. Not having the room available hours after check-in time is a violation of the most fundamental standard of a hotel and just not acceptable. That said the lobby bar crew was attentive and competent, although conspicuously over-staffed. Maybe they should have been cleaning rooms.
