Kirkton Park Hotel Hunter Valley

The food at the hotel was putrid. Sub par inedible pizza advertising as Wood fired. It wasn't. Run down property overall, bad lighting in the bar but rooms decorated nicely and have been updated on trend. Thin walls, next door played music until early hours and blessed us with their 'personal noises' several times.

Very comfortable and clean room. I shared with some girlfriends and our only complaint was the basin in the bathroom had no room to place our toiletries and the only accessible mirror was in the bathroom . Two large mirrors in the living area had two overly large bedside lamps covering them so they were not much use . Bedside lamps should be smaller or a mirror outside the bathroom should be placed in s different position - only practical. Otherwise the hotel was beautiful and the staff were more than helpful and friendly .

We stayed in an executive room which had a fantastic balcony overlooking beautiful views. The room decor was classy and comfortable. We just ate at the bar restaurant where the food was ok (typical pub grub). They had a more formal restaurant which was more pricey and set menu. The outdoor seating area would benefit from the ceilings being cleaned- a lot of dead flies that fall down around your table. Its nice to have the option of a pool, spa, sauna and gym area but this is an area that is more dated than the hotel rooms. A little TLC would be beneficial for this area of the hotel. There were a lot of dead flies splattered on the shower walls and door in the women's changing area- needs a good clean. That said, I would stay at this hotel again! The staff are friendly and welcoming.

It was definitely one of the best spots in the Hunter Valley, service was great and everything was of a high quality.

Spent my birthday here. Staff were efficient and very nice. Room was elegant and bed comfortable in the executive room. Minor fault was bath tub had lots of chipped surface nicks...
