Broken Air Condirioning

Not great. Room had a bit of a smell and the air conditioning DID NOT WORK. Nobody seemed to care and although a fan was offered for the night on night one, it was not fixed or repaired after that. Not great when traveling for business or vacation and you would certainly think that for the price, the air would be fixed as soon as possible.

No AC, no pool access, MCM super8 fail

The AC was broken during my stay and the room was really hot and impossible to sleep in. Furthermore when I asked if I could jump in the pool they said it wasn’t allowed, as it has very limited hours. Thin walls, super noisy, basically a roached super 8 with some lipstick.

The importance of reading reviews...

I read reviews, but thought the issues presented would have been fixed by the management. This wasn't really the case. Our stay was OK... this hotel is in a great location, but it is a bit old and worn out. It could also be a whole lot cleaner than it is... the carpet in our room was filthy, the sheets were a bit old, but clean. The HVAC did not work in our room. We arrived on a very warm day, and the AC did not work, and the management said they were unable to repair it. This also meant that we did not have any heat for the cold evenings. Also, the safe in the room did not work. The management gave us a small credit for each night we stayed because the HVAC didn't work. While the location of this hotel is great, I don't think we will stay again.

Couch has weird stains on it, black markings on wall as well as dirt on walls, hole in wall that was just plastered over with no paint, no hair dryer in the bathroom, TVs are in weird positions that don't make sense and then don't adjust. Bathroom has no fan and is missing part of the light switch, towel hanger is almost falling off the wall. Walls are paper thin. I could hear the people next door taking steps at 3am. Overall the room felt like I was in a teenage boy's room. So many questionable things I don't even want to know about. Managed to get about 2 hours of sleep through the entire night. Parking is also super bad if you drive anything that isn't a compact. Air conditioner doesn't even turn on and neither do any of the climate controls. Remote or manual buttons doesn't matter.

Don’t stay here

We booked our stay for a king bed. My husband is 6’3”. Upon our arrival they told us that all the king beds were taken. They only had a double bed room left. Due to not being able to go anywhere else we had to stay in a double bed. This was extremely disappointing. My husband and I barely slept. The bed was a rock and too small. The door only had 1 lock. The wall a/c unit took all night to cool down. This was a very disappointing stay. The staff gave us a $15 discount…..not worth the stay. Go somewhere else.

Mixed feelings about this property. It's "stylish" in that retro 50's mode, which is fun and appealing, and it could be an excellent hotel, except it was missing a few crucial notes: no storage drawers for clothes, just a rack for suitcase, only one tiny waste basket located in bathroom, thin towels, no soap dish, no coffee pods, tissue or toilet paper in room at check in - and no cleaning service during a 4 day stay. These are all small "attention to detail" items that decide between great and acceptable. Most notably- it was a cold spell in LA and the heat was not working. Mornings and evenings in the room were chilly. I work on my iPad in the morning, and it was uncomfortable. A small refund was given, but I had to ask, (twice), again- the difference between ok and great, great would have offered. Last: the art in our room was La 50's chic, attempting to be "cool" but as it was a 50's cheesecake photo of a languid women floating in a pool, I found it, as a woman, offensive. Usually I ignore hotel art, but this I wanted to pull off the wall or hang a towel over. Yes, that annoying! Very bad choice. Pros: Quiet, excellent parking situation, lovely bathroom with loads of natural light, sparkling pool and fun pool deck, location great, neighborhood is safe, fantastic and very walkable. We have family close; it was just good enough and has such future promise, we'd give it a second chance at the right price, and hope the details were straightened out.
