Hilton Garden Inn Macon/Mercer University

Despite many signs about extensive cleaning and sanitizing, shortliy after arriving in the room I put a piece of paper down on the TV stand and it stuck to the granite. When I got the paper off, it was clear that something had spilled and spread and it had not been cleaned off. I scrubbed it off myself. We paid a lot of money for this room. I expected it to be clean.

Very clean, excellent helpful staff and close to downtown dining options.

The bed was horrible. Ended up leaving early due to the bed.

The breakfast was terrible. The room rate should be lowered because there is no food served for breakfast.

I have stayed here several times before, but I was a little disappointed this time. No one had a smile ever and had several interactions with front desk, sundry shop, etc. They were folding towels in the lobby. I would have to wait for someone to show up at the check in desk or have the person notice me who was folding the towels. Coffee not ready to go and was told to just use a kcup but couldn't find the cups. Our closet door was off the track and unusable, door knob in bathroom cracked. I asked someone to get our trash and bring bags since they suspended house keeping unless asked - left bags but never knocked to get our trash, so I left outside door for two days - no one got it. So I eventually took trash to a public trashcan. I will say can't be the location if you have a Mercer student but with no real food or bar service (due to Covid of course) then it's really not worth the money. Also do NOT buy the room option with breakfast as the hot one is no longer available. They do have a continental but you have to ask for your coffee.

We stopped at this hotel as a half way point from our trip to the coast. This hotel is on the Mercer College campus and is a very nice property inside and out. Our issue started as we looked for a hotel with and out side pool as we travel to meet the sun if we can. Arrived at the hotel and were informed the pool was not open. It would be nice to update their web page to inform prior to making reservations. Second issue was running water and it did not stop.

The night shift desk guy was super friendly when we checked in at midnight. The lobby was gorgeous. The room itself was clean but disappointing. The shower did not work properly. The beds were comfy. The breakfast was a-la-carte but there was a nice selection of pastries yogurt and fresh fruit. For the amount of money we paid the room should have been on point

Hotel was fine. However, We were disappointed that there was no food or beverage service of any kind. We also did not see any type of notification regarding this when booking. We purposely looked for a hotel that we could eat at without having to go out. We would have chosen a different hotel that did if we would have known.

The room was good, but the closet door was broken and the bathroom fan didnt work. T.v give me problems in the beginning. I was upset that the amenities were closed. I really want to get in the pool. I know covid is going on but i paid full price for the room and thats all i got.
