super friendly and comfy!

We had a great stay. The front manager and everyone were really friendly and went above and beyond helping us. The staff was very curious and respectful. The bed was large and so comfy! The room was small and we had to move around each other. But, it was ok. We would definitely stay there again, but in a room with more walking space. Sincerely, thanks for the great stay!

My room had a balcony and the balcony door didn't close. The staff knew I was traveling with a small kid, a non lockable balcony is a risk. They sent 3 different staff groups go my room to check and fix it and none of them fixed it, all of them claimed it was fixed and pretended to try to open the balcony door to show it was fixed and I tried too and it just opened, it wasn't fixed. Then the lady at the lobby told me I there were no more rooms so I had to take it or she could put me in contact with the person who could fix the door (a quick search in Expedia showed they did have rooms, my wife called and asked for a room and they told her they had rooms). It was night already and we decided to stay as it was just one night. We went to the cafeteria for breakfast and they had dirty plates and glasses, I had to tell the employees as they hadn't noticed, or so they claimed. When checking out nobody asked if the stay was good, my wife told the lady at the lobby that everything was awful and she just ignored her. I would never stay at this place again, not even if they paid me to.

We enjoy staying at this hotel! I gave it five stars! The suite was clean, I email the hotel and asked for extra towels before arriving, they came through! Concierge were very attentive, breakfast the next morning was delicious!! Overall we had a great experience! 😊

Convenient location

Nice hotel in a convenient location in Cuenca. Staff was great. We had a nice balcony looking over the street. Restaurant was just ok. We had dinner one night. Breakfast was also only ok.

We stayed in the Presidential Suite for 7 days and we loved the staff. Our Spanish is paltry but they went out of their way to help us always. Their daily breakfast buffet was WONDERFUL. Freshly made omelettes and waffles plus all the fresh fruits, yogurts, fresh juices and Ecuadorian food as well. It was the best way to start my day! The dining room and room service staff were great. One of the lovely waiters even brought the breakfast plate I made for my fiancée and brought it up to the room since he didn’t feel well. I highly recommend the El Dorado. We will come back here always when in Cuenca

A modern hotel in the heart of the old town just one block from the new catherderal. Bathroom rather small but workable and breakfast could be improved. But for the price, excellent value for money

Excellent

The doorman knows this hotel the best, he is an asset to the hotel and all staff gave excellent service. On arrival we requested a room with a decent view and we were reallocated from the 1st floor to the 7th overlooking the city. Beautiful by day and night. The front of house and the waiting staff in the dijjnt room gave us excellent service. The hotel is clean, practical, well located.
