Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Detroit-Novi, an IHG Hotel

This is our second time here and this place is great clean room quiet and the breakfast is awesome the only thing I don’t like is I wish the bathroom had air in there so the mirror would not fog up and clean air circulating in there but this is a great place it’s not by a lot of traffic and it’s just far enough away from the busy Haggerty road so when we go to have lunch and dinner on Haggerty road we drive back to our cozy hotel and relax it’s a great location keep up the great work plus the price is great can not be beat

Property was a mess, pool area super small. Our room was advertised as sleeping 7 and it only slept 6. Breakfast was very good!!

Great stay

The room was clean and comfortable, I usually wake up with a stiff back but not this time. The blue light on the thermostat was a little annoying during the night, it lit up the whole room. The breakfast was wonderful.

When I arrived I was told they were overbooked. Then the room we received was 5 feet from the elevator (directly across from the open and closing doors). The pool was not available and construction was taking place on the entire 3rd floor.

Left exhausted

We did a late check in with intentions to just sleep, get up, have breakfast and leave for a cheer competition. The front desk called 3 times due to noise complaints WHILE WE WERE IN BED TRYING TO SLEEP. I called ahead to make sure we would be able to get a roll away bed in each room as mentioned in my reservations. I was told they would be in the rooms when we got there. They weren't so i called the front desk and was then informed that they are $20 each per night, which wasn't mentioned anywhere in my reservations or when i called for them originally. She was nice enough to waive the fee. The breakfast was excellent as far as hotel breakfasts go and the front desk staff was nice. The shower didn't appear to be very clean. Beds were very uncomfortable and we couldn't get much sleep. My body was sore and i considered getting up to take a bath but was afraid of another noise complaint.

We ways stay at this property when we need to visit Detroit. It's close enough to the highway that it's quick to get there, the rooms have amazing amenities available, and the staff is always welcoming.

Nice stay overall

stay was nice. Although the hotel was under a remodel, it didn't disrupt anything. Other than the pool was not available and for this trip we wouldn't have used it anyway. The down side, and there is really nothing the hotel can do about it since it is legal in MI now, but the hallway reaked of marijuana very strongly and it lingered for some time. My teenage daughters were not happy and it is hard as a parent when you try to teach your kids one way and it is then everywhere.

Online said it was newly renovated. Renovations are still on going. Didn't see anything that was 'newly renovated'
