A terrible hotel

This hotel is a 3 star hotel at most. Hotel lobby were outdated and our room was small that we could barely have space for our suitcases. The shower head was positioned such that water slashed all over the vanity. Coffee was watery . I did not want to eat anything at the hotel because we did not want to get sick. We left the hotel first thing in the morning and moved to another hotel near by.

It was a great place. The location was great, beach beautiful. Wish there were more eating places and bars. Staff not overly friendly.

We were put in a room that probably had a 20 year old mattresss which was awful. We nicely asked to be switched and the staff was obnoxious about it. After 4 hours of speaking to people and having expedia call on my behalf, there was no progress whatsoever. The staff was rude, abusive and treated me as a dark skinned individual very differently from the other patrons. It was deeply offensive and after i did bring this up to management, they literally denied that the things that ww documented were documented.

Awesome trip with my boyfriend, good food, good spot, easy to get to and a lot to do around the hotel. Pool and beach very clean and super pretty. Staff awesome(:

Great but they are slipping...

Privilege is a beautiful, clean, and safe resort... However, it lost some of its allure with the ever present Covid rules and grumpy staff. This is the only place on the island where masks were mandatory inside, and it was strongly enforced! Also, the staff was very cold and super strict on the 3pm check-in time. Try to check in a minute before 3pm and you'll be sent back out to the pool... common!? Three other issues for us: the pool bar only had two beers and overly watered down cocktails. The wifi was too slow for a resort of this caliber. And they charge WAY too much to get local currency. I'll explain, the ATM only dispenses USD, but charges a huge withdrawal fee and currency exchange fee. Then you pay another exchange fee at the front desk for Pasos at a reduced exchange rate. Lost a good 15% in the process. We had to do this in a pinch, but be sure to get local money before you arrive.
