Clean place And friendly staff Made the stay pleasant

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Check-in and out were both very easy. And the woman who checked us in gave us a breakfast recommendation and hiking recommendation that each ended up being our favorite parts of our trip!

I paid off for three rooms. However when I checked in, they told me that i did book 3 rooms and full paied. But unfortunately there were only two rooms available. Any questions I had to contact hotels.com.

Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful and professional.

Location wasn’t bad. I did like the free parking that was available. Given the Covid situation, was told no one comes into your room until 24 hours after you have left. Hotel staff did tell me if I needed clean linens or things like toilet paper to let them know, but I felt I had to buy my own and clean after myself often. On days I was heading out, I would leave the garbage bags outside... didn’t mind doing this because I didn’t want the room to smell if there was food waste. Perhaps hotel should discount this from their hotel rate. Don’t know how other guests were managing this when staying for longer days. The free breakfast was not available - they were offering to-go bags but by the time I was heading downstairs there were none available. Overall, from 5 stars, I would give this place a 3. Not horrible but could be better.

We had trouble with our key card, ended up getting a new room after the first day because of it, which we appreciated. The front desk staff was hit and miss with friendliness.

After driving for many hours and checking in late evening, we were told that our reservation for a Queen suite was not available and we had to separate our family into two rooms. This was a nightmare with sharing luggage and splitting items. We were obviously disappointed. Also, during the covid-19 pandemic, we hoped to be notified of what the hotel was doing to protect it's guests, including care taken in the rooms. Not only was that not mentioned or displayed, the front desk person was not wearing a mask and had no hand sanitizer visibly available.

Like other HI Express sites, the layout, rooms, and amenities are very nice. Due to Covid restrictions, the breakfast, pool, and fitness rooms were unavailable, which was appropriate. Unfortunately, the mini-suite I checked into was poorly cleaned and prepped. The mini fridge-freezer was missing the upper freezer unit and there were two half-empty, melting ice cream containers in the fridge. There was no soap in the bathroom and room pillows were askew. The front desk transferred me to another room which was better, but still not up to HIE standards. I suspect that housekeeping is having temporary hiring issues.

I liked that it was conveniently placed right off the NYS Thruway. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 their pool was not open. However, very well kept hotel.
