Residence Inn by Marriott San Jose Escazu

This was a 1st time stay at Residence Inn, as the hotel I normally stay at when needing to be in SJ overnight is closed for renovation. I will come back because of primarily the outstanding staff! I live in CR and love the ever willing to be helpful Ticos but the staff at this hotel were even above the norm. The location is good with lots of excellent restaurants steps away, easy access off the highway but NO highway noise in the room. My 1 and only negative comment is something someone else mentioned....only decaf coffee in the room. I did mention it to David, front desk person when checking out, and he was apologetic, saying that it was a random thing but if I had of called they would have sent up regular ASAP...ok, next time. Also want to note that the free hotel breakfast was extremely good too.........no buffet because of government health rules, but many excellent choices....with regular coffee!

Nice hotel, good location, friendly stuff, nice breakfast. Less nice- we were told we upgraded but got the same room we supposed to get, they should better explain the policy with the Gym and the pool because eventually we couldn't use the pool.

Walkable area location is excellent to a lot of amenities

We booked 2 bedroom two months in advance but there was no 2 bedroom unit when we check in at 3pm. Our family had to be separated.

The location was very amenable to walking around and eating and going to a large mall.

Everything was awesome. Very friendly. Nothing not to like.

We were especially pleased with the staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Especially Miguel at the front desk who helped us with dinner reservations when most restaurants were closed He went the extra mile for us and even printed up aTHANK YOU card for us when all the shops were closed Thank you Miguel
