Uday Samudra Leisure Beach Hotel

Very nice location with great landscape. Our second floor room was facing Arabian Sea. Enjoyed the sound of waves and the foam sitting in the front balcony of our room. Liked the services of Travel desk. The rooms need upgrading particularly the bath rooms.

Our stay was overall good but noisy and the hotel is in need of TLC, the staff were lovely

It is not at all worth for money. Very old rooms with poor door handles and low cleanliness. Charging like super 5 star Food is very ugly. Not of any quality. More than that, my son in law told me that UDS, very careful about food poisoning. It was true and my grand children of 1.5 years old caught vomiting and desentry. Then my elder daughter, then my son then my daughter in law. My son was a vegetarian. He also been affected. Luckly myself and my wife escaped Horrible horrible horrible

I would rate it as not as per expectations for a four star property. While I booked an Ocean View Room the room initially allotted to me had a partial view of ocean and for that too one had to go out to the balcony. The room had afoul smell and I requested for a change which was promptly attended too but the room given had only little view of the ocean from the balcony. The next day, however, I was allotted an Ocean View room after a request again. The restaurant was very crowded and the quality was food was also just Ok. The staff, however, were courteous and helpful.

Good location. But in the hotel. You cannot get, Okay and uber taxis, since the hotel has their own transport. And they charge double. They blame the union.

I really love Kovalam and when I think Kovalam I think Uday Samudra. I love the facilities esp the pool on my doorstep, the ayurveda, dentist and spa. The breakfasts are hearty and the staff go out of their way to make one feel at home. The beach and sound of the crashing waves make one feel close to nature as well as the golden drops of sunset. Will always go back.

Did not like the fact that we could not directly access beach

This hotel's value prop seems to be that "we are here as the last resort after all the decent hotels have filled up, and due to that, we will squeeze the last drop of your wallet out of you, but care two hoots about quality" The only good thing about this place was, it was a hop, skip and jump away from the beach. That is the only thing good about it. the location. The rooms: They are terrible. We booked 2 rooms, top end rates. The room had a small living room (decent), and the main bedroom adjacent to it ( double), and an Attached loo/bath. While the rooms are old, has a bit of a dinghy smell, the worst was the bathroom. Old fittings, leaky taps, and the worst was the pot. (Commode). i've checked this in both rooms. You need to flush at least 2 full flushes (thats at least 30 litres of water down the drain, literally) to return the pot to a usable condition. I felt it was very unhygienic. Food: The buffet is average - lunch. The in-room dining order was excellent (dinner). There was no breakfast included in our top end rate( which is why i said they squeeze every drop of your wallet - no value for money whatsoever). Staff: Cannot complain.They are trying to do their best, but the infrastructure is just not updated. Peak season, the flaws show up like an open festering wound. We stayed only for one night, and glad the nightmare was over quickly. This place seriously needs a modern makeover, need to stop fleecing tourists with average infrastructure befitting a 2star!

The hotel is dated and in much need of renovation. The linens and towels were deeply worn out, bed is thin and very hard. F you stay here expect what you paid for, below mediocre.
