Great place

This is a really good hotel. Its location right behind the Blue Mosque is sterling. I have one reservation. Three floors and no elevator. That got tiring after awhile for this 81 year old. That said, I'd choose it again, but stipulate first floor.

In the middle of Istanbul

I have been to Istanbul a number of time. This was the first time staying at the the Sultanahmet Palace Hotel. Not only is it within minutes walking from all major places to see and close to the tram, the service and friendliness of the staff was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Great stay

Really nice hotel in a great location. Perfect base for seeing the main sights of Istanbul. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Dissapointing.

Where do i start. Definately not a 4* . Much more like a 2 * if that. Rooms were tired looking and cosmetically not done properly. Bathroom is very very very small. The toilet opened bangs into you if you were sitting on the toilet seat! We had the shower pipe leaking throughout our stay. Room 203. On arrival around 2am we found several hairs on the bed linen. We asked for this to be changed. Dont expect that when your jet lagged from a long journey. Pillows were poor and the case had holes in them! Room was very basic. The safe is not even bolted in and can be taken away so we carried our passports and belongings with us throughout the trip. On arrival the staff was helpful as he addressed by our names. However the next day i needed some help with the map and was told point blank they are busy to help me. I made a remark where by he rurned around and assisted me but i was annoyed as to why he said that. So if its your first time in Istanbul you wont be getting any help! Most disappointing was it was my husbands birthday and i asked for something special to be done. I mean a small slice of cake or something with a candle wouldnt have hurt. But nothing. I mean zilch. So if your celebrating a special date dont bother. Breakfast was not consistant. Some tables were given more items such as croissaints and we didnt. The ONLY good thing was the location right outside the blue mosque. 10* for that. Staff 3* Thank you to Seedat on departure. The most helpful at the hotel.

Nice and quiet when we visited even though its very close to the main attractions. The dining area is very nice with an excellent view. The rooms are biggish and its got a traditional turkish bathroom. The hotel and the bedding were a tiny bit worn but at least everything was working. Over all a good experience

Unique hotel in the old city.

Beautiful ottoman style hotel situated near the blue Mosque and aya Sofia. Many restaurants near by. The hotel has very friendly staff. The breakfast is nice. It is not a buffet style but they have many items.

Very pleased. The location is great, cannot be better. Hotel has authentic decoration pulls you into the country's culture straight away. The bathroom was Turkish bath style, very interesting and loved it. Courtyard, the restaurant, and terrace sutting areas were good. Breakfast was great. The room and bathrooms a little snug, wish they were little larger. The room's ceiling detail and the balcony doors etc really nice. And the hotel has seaview for sure. Could take PCR at the hotel, great service cheaper than outside elsewhere.
