Southern Cross Atrium Apartments

Good Location but no customer service

We stayed here last year and we loved it so we rebooked our stay however this time the customer service experience was, well they had none! I requested back in February a ground floor room because we have a infant and carrying a pram up and down stairs was a challenge. They were fine with this but when we arrived we were on the second floor. I queried this at reception and they told us there were no rooms on the ground floor with this type. If they had communicated this in February we would have changed our booking room type but that was unfortunate. What was extremely irritating is the receptionist saying ‘I believe I spoke to your mother a day ago about this when she called asking for the ground floor’. This wasn’t my mother and when I let her know she had the wrong person she just didn’t bother responding. Covid has certainly taken its toll on people especially in the travel industry and businesses but we weren’t even asked ‘how was our stay’ as we checked out a day early! I’d definitely say they have changed management in the last 12months or have new employees. It’s just not as pleasant as it was. There were stains on the couch, the water didn’t run well, we were given 2 sachets of dishwasher powder for 8nights. Overall, it’s a good location but they probably just don’t care like they did.

Had an enjoyable 13 night stay in 1bedroom apartment,plenty of room,good amenities and friendly staff.Walking distance to shops bars restaurants and casino with Cairns Central 50 metres away.👍👍

Excellent Stay

My wife and I stayed 7 nights at the Southern Cross Atrium Apartments, Check-in at reception was not to be faulted and the reception staff were always helpful, Our room was fabulous, The sauna was brilliant, the pool was wonderful, (shame the poolside drinks and snack bar was not open,) Apartments are within walking distance to City Plaza, abundant restaurants in the city centre, will surely stay at these apartments again.

Lovely room, and pool. Overly a very pleasant stay. Location was fantastic. Only thing I’d like to see improved is the air conditioning

Deluxe ground floor room 👍

Deluxe was great, spacious & clean & on ground floor easy & convenience access to swimming pools, location of hotel is great, mall next door & city centre about 5mins up the road, only down fall need a table in bathroom, but overall good room & hotel

Great location, great clean room and comfortable bed. Good sized room with full sized fridge. Suited my needs.
