Satisfied with our stay

We had a good stay overall. The location is very convenient, one block away from the main plaza. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious! The room was a bit small but clean and the bed comfortable. My only complaint is that there is no A/C and it was quite warm. We could not leave the window open at night because of the street noise. The staff provided a fan which helped a little. Overall we are satisfied with our stay!

I had a lovely stay at Los Tambos. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was really nice. Great location, only half a block to the central plaza (Plaza de Armas) and close to everything. The staff/manager allowed me to have very early check-in (6:00 am) and late checkout for a fee. I would definitely go back next time I visit.

The woman who works at the front desk on our day of check out, just incredibly rude. For the owner's notification, this is the woman working the front desk on December 3, 2021. The day after my birthday. My reviews are always positive. But I must note there were several issues with this person including being dishonest to my partner and I. Actually, lying to our faces. Firstly, there was a very rude tone in an email from her before check in to clarify the type of room. I was like, what the heck? Later, she told us on the morning of check out that we could not receive a late check out as the hotel was full. She actually said, not one minute after check out. Yet, Orbitz confirmed rooms were available at the hotel for that day. Her extremely unpleasant attitude and my partner and I who were very tired and suffering from altitude sickness being forced to the streets for 9 hours before an evening flight out pretty much ruined the last day of our trip to Arequipa. This individual checked my passport with some online system for the government and impuested a "tax" on our stay that we believe is not accurate and was never disclosed at reservation. It is a shame as the other staff members at the hotel were so friendly and did such a nice job taking care of us. But, we would not recommend this hotel to international travelers nor stay there again due to our experience with the woman who was working the front desk at our check out on December 3, 2021.

Our overall stay was fantastic. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, they stored our luggage for us, the rooms were very clean, the breakfast crepes were to die for, and the location couldn’t be beat. I would recommend the balcony room - it is louder because of being on a main road but we had white noise on our phones and slept like babies. Stay here!!

A great hotel a stone's throw from the square

I stayed for 2 nights split over 3 days as I was doing an overnight Colca Canyon trip in the middle. Firstly the hotel is ideally placed on a side street just off the main square with lots of tourist attractions on its doorstep not to mention many restaurants and bars. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and spoke English well. I was on the 5 floor, spacious room, very clean, had a fridge and heater for those chilly nights. Rainfall shower head with lovely pressure and hot water. Also turn down service with chocolates left on the bed. I was leaving very early the following morning and they said they would have a boxed breakfast ready for me at 4:30am. They stored my main luggage for my return. On my return, the luggage was already in my room as was the laundry I had left with them. Breakfast the following morning better than average. On the top floor, rooftop is some seating area and a great place to watch the sunset. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would certainly stay here again as well as recommend it to others.

I will definitely stay here in the future!

We booked this based on the customer ratings for great service. I also loved that the rooms looked bright and happy. Unfortunately, our flight was turned around and sent back to Cuzco for the night, so we couldn't make it. Because we booked last minute and on a deal, I knew there were no refunds allowed. But the hotel was very understanding and did not charge us for the night. The next day, we were alerted that the Quarentine was starting in Peru and we basically had less than 24 hours to get out of the country or we would have to stay in Peru indefinitely. We used every bit of funds we had to make it home, so I can not express enough how grateful I am to this hotel for their understanding. If we had been quarantined for weeks, this is the hotel I would want to be at. It is becoming harder and harder to find customer service of this caliber nowadays. I will not forget this hotel and how their service contributed to us making it back to the US. I will faithfully stay here for any future Arequipa stays.

Great location near the Plaza de Armas. Friendly staff. Allowed early checkin at 5am from our bus drop off fire only 50% of a night including breakfast. Very good value for the money.

A great job done by all

No criticism, except maybe spotty wifi. It's an old town and it's in an old building, as are most hotels. Naturally, Peru doesn't have the infrastructure the the US or Germany or Norway does. Still, a wonderful hotel run by really wonderful folks.
