At arrival the reserved room was not made ready for us. It needed an intervention at the reception to get a new room instead to follow the hotel assistants proposal to have dinner first After a 40° summer day we wanted to shower first prior going to the restaurant.

Romantic hotel in a rural setting

Hidden in the rural outskirts of Lübeck, the Ringhtel Friederikenhof is a wonderful location for a short getaway and a romantic weekend. It offers all the amenities you require and a an excellent restaurant with very attentive service. If you are so enclined, bring your bike along - the surroundings are perfect for a bike ride with a picnic for two along a canal or you could explore Lübeck from the seat of your bike. I am seriously considering rebooking another stay!

Beautiful Hotel outside of town

Wonderful, beautiful hotel with really nice gourmet restaurant. Outside of town, and it helps to have a GPS to find the place. Probably would need a car to get there (plenty of on-site parking). Quite and peaceful. No shops or restaurants near hotel, but barns and cottages are nice to walk around. Room was large and comfortable, very clean, and attractively decorated.

Quite a find

This hotel is near Luebeck but is definitely situated in the country. So, it would be perfect for visiting, and then retreating from this World Heritage city. It would also be great if you had time to relax and just sit in the garden or enjoy the countryside. There are no supporting services out there -- no entertainment complexes or stores -- so the hotel is very much your only resource. But a fine resource it is. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. The restaurant serves an array of game, prepared to a high standard, but also familiar German dishes (it is not inexpensive). Everyone speaks enough English to be of good service. I regretted that we stayed only one night but our schedule and the miserable weather forced us to move on.

An oasis within easy reach of the city

The hotel was in such a peaceful location yet only a 10 minute drive from the city. The service was excellent as was the breakfast.

Peaceful location of hotel and proximity of Lubeck

Very much enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful location with lovely outdoor areas for sitting and dining. Hotel staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Small high quality good value dinner menu . Wide range of dishes for breakfast. Lighting level in bedrooms too low. Would visit again.
