Great hotel with great staff

I love this hotel as it is beautiful and the staffs are so great. It is a bit of a walk from JR Osaka station but it is connected by the underground path so that you do not need an umbrella even if it rains.

Pros With an exit to the underground street; I stayed in high floor, so it’s quiet Cons: few sockets, and the locations are quite strange; shops close earlier when comparing to the shops in Shinsaibashi

The hotel has a number of reviews commenting on its white-marble Cinderella meets Liberace aesthetic. It's odd considering the hotel is so new, but hey it's Japan. Hotel lobby is on the 1st (Japanese/American 2nd) floor and has an odd wet-sheep lanolin smell about it as you ascend the escalator. We later realised this smell appears in other parts of Osaka too. Twin room offered power outlets to each bed. Room had a small couch, appearing to be a fold-out sofa-bed. Bathroom standard Japanese pod-style with limited shelf space. Window unable to open (possibly only in an emergency, but didn't try to open it) Lifts were frequent and fast. Breakfast was standard western/Japanese hotel stuff. Drip filter coffee was very strong. Hot options were usually virtually cold. Bread was usually stale but the pastries (assume par-cooked or frozen) were cooked/heated onsite and fresh. The hotel is a slight walk south from Osaka station, but close to a few subway stations. Short walk up to Umeda for nightlife and shopping. Still there are restaurants nearby, and a big bottle shop next door. Overall a pretty good deal for the price.

Nice hotel away from the tourist and craziness

Great hotel, with very peaceful type of environment. About a 10 minute underground walk from Osaka station but the distance really cuts down on the tourist. (A plus for me). The underground walk way also a huge plus as in December it was a little chilly in the early morning and late evening. A great stay.

Unfortunate rude experience

Everything was wonderful except for one incident with the night desk staff. Japanese are known for politeness and being patient. I know this is one incident but it did give us a bad taste with this experience, especially it was our first night in Japan. My sister in law was in the lobby early in the morning around 1 am, trying to finish her work in the US with her internet. She could not get to open her internet so she asked for help from one young man behind the counter. Whatever the reason was, he lost his temper and cussing and had temper tantrum, his behavior scared my sister in law. His behavior is not acceptable for customer no matter what. Guest should never feel thereaten by staff.

Overall the hotel was decent. The location is convenient (about a 10 minute walk from Osaka Station) and about a 5-7 minute walk to the metro station. The interior of the hotel reminds me of a barbie dollhouse. The room was spacious, but quite tacky. Overall the room was comfortable, however, it was very disappointing that there was no complimentary water bottle.
