Room wasn’t the cleanest. Lots of dust on the fan. Extractor fan in the bathroom was broken resulting in the room being boiling after we showered

Absolutely brilliant stay, took my partners parents who are in the 80's they loved it,all staff were very friendly and nothing was a chore food was out of this world always hot and tasty,would definitely recommend this hotel

Too many steep steps and uneven surfaces. Creaky floors and banging doors.

It really didn't live up to it's star rating, and 'excellent' review - and so we were disappointed.

Rooms are quite basic for what you pay - also did not appreciate being woke up at 6:30 in the morning after paying over £70 for a night away from home and a day off work the next day for a surprise. Was woke by an absolute racket outside from a delivery fair enough the hotel needs delivery’s but had I known I would have been woke up before 7am I would not have bothered.

We had a lovely stay, We booked to stay again before we had even checked out. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and I could have eaten the breakfast all over again

Ideal - good sized room, clean and very comfortable

Nice country inn just outside Newport. My only comment....needs more staff in the evenings. Waited 5 mins to be booked in and reserved table in the name for 7.45. Took 25 mins for my order to be taken and then another 30 mins for one course to arrive. Needless to say by 9.10 gave up waiting for someone to take by dessert order . Rooms are well equipped and clean. No issues with breakfast, very good. Just a shame about the evening setup
