Northern Porto Gem

Was a 3 day stay but extended for a Night. The Hotel is magnificent in appearance with the Main Reception, Bar, Reading Room & First Room Floor so alluring & presentable with a lovely retro feel. The Staff on Reception were accessible at all times including very late & Cleaning carried out a thorough tidy when required. Hotel is at the starting point of Matosinhos & a wonderful place to head out from each day.

Chose this hotel as it was out the city and close to the beach. Hotel currently refurbishing. My room was modern and clean. However noise from current refurb throughout the day until late evening. Which wasn’t stated at the time of booking or on the website currently. Just a sign stuck in the lift to inform you Requested a quiet room away from the lift (as that normally bugs me) given a street facing room with the tram outside which operates until 1am Didn’t really disrupt my sleep, but if you’re a light sleeper avoid front rooms. WiFi wasn’t great but I didn’t get round to complain about it Good location, good metro/tram into Porto, nice new refurb rooms, clean, friendly chatty staff

The reception Staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful I've come across. One young lady even took the trouble to walk home past my car to check it was parked legally , then phoned me to tell me it was okay.

Worst hotel stay ever

The room aircon unit broke and left a huge puddle of water any of us could have fell over on by the front door. Instead of giving us a new room we were told to wait for an hour for 3 electricians to turn up, who all stood in our room for an hour with no apologies, room changes or compensation. After an hour of arguing we got given individual rooms with air cons which did not work, and looked like prison cells. Stay away at all costs.

Great Town

Went with three friends for the Euro Nations League Finals. The Hotel is conveniently placed for link to Porto and Airport. Within a two minute walk of nearest metro station. Also very well placed for Matosinhos itself with beach and restaurants in easy reach. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend this as an ideal base rather than Porto City itself as you can easily get in and out of the city but have the advantage of a fairly quiet, friendly town and the excellent restaurants and beach. Football was a waste of space

Our room wasn’t anything lik the photo. Very small, bed not comfortable. No room for suitcases etc. Front desk were great, tried very hard to get us on an excursion.

The lobby and common areas are very nice and modern. But the rooms are a bit dated and the bed is a a bit hard.
