Pantai Inn

The location is great! We loved being directly across from the ocean with beautiful views. Parking was a bit of an issue as construction was going on most of the week we spent at Pantai… we paid $20.00 per day for parking that was largely taken by 4-5 construction vehicles each day, it was a little annoying. We’d leave in the morning to head out for a little adventure and return to shower & get ready for dinner, etc and have to fight to find parking since parking is so limited (and being used by the construction workers). It seems to me, the hired help should have limited access to the parking lot that guests have paid for… Lots of construction going on when we were there… lots of workers and lots of noise. It’s great that they are making updates, however, not so great when “surprise” workers are on your balcony for a day or two making lots of noise AND you unknowingly lose access to your balcony! Hmmmmmm. The room was a bit musty smelling and could definitely use some modern updates. The outside of the hotel is much nicer than our actual room. The pull out couch (my daughter had to use) was old, worn out and less than comfortable. The interior patio area outside the main lobby area was very nice. We actually sat out there and enjoyed the sunshine one beautiful morning. Overall, the hotel is ok. I mean the location is awesome! You’re paying more for the location than the amenities of the hotel. You get what you pay for…

Property was beautiful and staff were super friendly and courteous, excellent service. The only thing i didn’t like was the windows were stuck shut...i wanted to be able to hear the ocean but was unable too. Talked with the staff and they had painted the building and was stuck shut...that was the only thing i didn’t like.

When I arrived ,there was much construction going on in the buildings , Certainly not aware of that when I made my reservations. There was no place to park on the property either because of the constructions vehicles . I paid for parking for four days and nights, was only actually able to park on the property two of those nights. Unfortunately work began @ 7:15 am , not what you want to hear on vacation. When I booked I paid for an ocean front room on a high floor, was put on the ground floor, very disappointed and extremely noisy. The cleanliness of the room was good, no amenities whatsoever except for a Keurig machine. It is a great location across the street from the beach and being very walkable but the property is very run down. Hoping to get a little fresh air I tried to open a window but they were all rusted shut.This was my second time staying there and I only did because I really like the location. The rooms are really nothing special they are so run down, no closets or armoire or a place to hang clothes was inconvenient . Don’t recommend and I won’t be staying here again.

The Pantai Inn is a beautiful property, at an excellent price, right off the beach on La Jolla Cove. Amazing views, close to restaurants and sights, and friendly and helpful staff. The suite was like our own house with a full size kitchen and dining room. I highly recommend.

Unsatisfactory stay

This was my fourth stay at the pantai Inn, we love it so much that that we decided to stay here the fourth time, however, this time the friendliness of the staff the comfort of the stay was missing. The staff made us feel unwelcome. I’m sad to say that this will be our last time staying at this facility.

Lovely retreat

We upgraded our reservation to a room with full ocean front view which was lovely. The only draw back was that they started working on the room next door while we were still getting up to start our day.

Friendly staff and loved the free water bottles. The room set up was old and the room smelled musty. The bathroom was small and when you took a shower water went every where on the floor.
