Eka Hotel Nairobi

Hotel was very good with strong security both outside and inside. The facilities were clean and very western and the staff very professional and helpful. The food, both the buffet and a la carte dining were also very good. The hotel is a layover point for tours heading out on safari. The tours arrive late afternoon from the airport and depart early morning on safari. The hotel is busy but manageable. I travel on business and will use the Eka for all of my Nairobi stays from now on.

I almost didnt book with this facility, based on reviews I had read. I am so glad that I ignored the haters. Compared to my experience, their negative comments are unfounded.

The air conditioning stopped working in the room but I did not realize it until checkout time. Therefor I was under the assumption that I had come down with a fever. When I told Hotel management about the broken AC they verified with the hotel Engineer, but refused to discount my stay for the inconvenience. I was disappointed that they would not even comp a meal to make up for the discomfort that we felt. They simply could have done better.

The general outside of the property are very clean and well maintained. The fridge in the room was empty the entire time that I stayed there, only one tiny shower gel was provided daily even though we were two! The customer services is very poor, in general.

I frequently stay at the Eka on my first night in Nairobi. It is convenient for the airport.

Conveniently situated close to the airport. However, if you need to travel downtown, do not consider booking the hotel. The traffic in Nairobi is hectic. Good overall tourist average class hotel. For the price I would have expected a bit better. Rooms were dark, especially where suitcases rack is kept. Some minor maintenance might be required. Restaurant good. Friendly staff.

It was clean and the staff was excellent, helpful

Staff & property is cute, cozy and inviting. Liked the gal that brought us drinks at check-in. Also, check-in staff were communicative and helpful. Lovely hotel and would highly recommend. The only things that I would change is the beds being so close together. This room was booked for two people (friends) not a couple so we had to push them apart, lol. Also, please get fans for your bathrooms EKA! No guest ever wants to use a hotel bathroom no matter who they're with without a nice loud fan for privacy.
