Beware your Card and bring ear plugs!

I pre-paid for our room via Hotels.com and upon arrival I was told that I hadn’t paid and needed to pay. Despite showing the front desk person that I paid, my credit card was run for the room cost plus the incidental charge. I was assured they would contact Hotels.com regarding the issue and was later contacted to say that the charges would be reversed. However, upon checking my credit card the charges were still present and I am still waiting for them to be reversed. When I booked the room I asked for a patio room. We were given one, but the patio had snow approximately 2’ deep rendering it useless. We wanted to use it to watch the nearby laser show. Our room was located on the ground floor (could also be considered the basement) and, as we discovered later, under the kitchen and entry way. The maintenance person replaced tiles in the kitchen causing loud banging in the early evening and around 10:30 sounds came from the ceiling that sounded like we were under a bowling alley. This turned out to be the laundry delivery. I complained to the front desk but it did take a bit for the sounds to cease. This was not a comfortable stay due to the billing and noise issues and I would not choose to stay at this hotel in the future.

I have to say that thankfully the trip worked out to be just fine, but it started off pretty rocky when I arrived at the hotel to find out I had no reservation and the receptionist informed me that my reservation had been cancelled! To say that I panicked and about had a heart attack is an understatement! I was lucky that their were rooms available for our stay, but it would have been devastating had there not been for my entire family and I being that we drove over 2 hours to celebrate my husband's birthday and NYE. I was disappointed that the receptionist didn't even honor my price from hotels.com. After this near disaster of an experience, I am not sure that I would book again through your site.

Clean and welcoming.

Very clean... serve warm cookies by the elevator in the afternoon. Great views of Lake Superior.

Our room was on the ground floor facing the parking lot. It was an oversized room, but the down side was having a tour bus outside our windows early in the morning. Would recommend a higher floor to resolve any noise from the parking lot. Other than that it is always a great stay as we have stayed here before.
