Another happy, relaxing vacation at Casa Maya. As the pandemic has affected us all, it was nice to see the resort still thriving. The rooms and guest areas were immaculate. As usual the staff was friendly and fabulous. Our needs changed a bit as we arrived and we were immediately greeted and taken care of. Nice to see a bit of new construction on the grounds, looks like a kids play area is happening with water slides and their own pool. The COVID testing was done at the resort and was quick. Again Casa Maya delivered. We had two breath taking views, one of the lagoon and hotel zone, when lit up at night is a sight to see. The second of the ocean and watching the boats in and out all day was only outdone by the sunsets at night. Definitely a recommend for a non all inclusive. We will definitely return as it has become our Mexican home away from home

Disappointment!!

I stayed at the Casa Maya specifically because it is the oldest hotel in Cancun. I thought it would have classic elegance at an affordable price. Maybe because of COVID, the service is horrible (??? lack of staff ???). The carpet in the room was FILTHY and worn. The hotel only changes linens and towels every 3 days: forced environmentalism??? On departure day, the room had not hot water at 5:30 am. After getting ready and going to check out, I tried to ask/tell the front desk and before I could finish the supervisor began speaking and telling me I waited too long to report the hot water problem. She would not stop talking to listen. I wanted NOTHING from the hotel except to give them my feedback. They were not interested. The food is third-rate. Everything is worn. There is no money exchange at the front desk (store only/limited hours).

went to relax not be bothered by sales pitch

the hotel was nice and clean, customer service is very cold. constant hounding on their sales pitch to view their presentation on buying into their timeshare.

I had the best time at Casa Maya! I came here just to relax, after finishing some studies, and this was exactly what I needed! Some great things about the hotel: 1. Front desk service is 5 star! Very caring and modest people, they go out of their way! Free masks, easy lost key replacement, late check-out possible if needed. The people at the door always smile—and it’s genuine! I know the difference. Special thanks to Misael and Ignacio at the front desk, who made my life easy and my stay worry-free. Outstanding service! 2. The beach is right at the hotel, and the locals will tell you that it’s one of the nicest in Cancun. No waves, soft sand, clean. 3. Cheap Covid testing is within walking distance. Carnitas Michoacán is a fantastic place for local food, about 15 minutes away, walking is along a beautiful water canal. 4. Clean, safe, warm environment all around. Thank you, Casa Maya! 😁

Hidden Gem!

The wife and I stayed a week at another resort down the road and decided we wanted to stay one more night in Cancun and ended up finding this place last minute due to the reviews of the beach. It did not disappoint. The beach is wide and long, the water shallow and gentle with that unmistakable hue of blue. The only downside to this place is that there are no food options within walking distance so you will need to taxi about 5 minutes in either direction, eat onsite or make a trip to the supermercado to take advantage of the full kitchen in the Ambassador suite. We ate onsite and the food/service was fantastic but could see how this may not be enough variety if we would have stayed there longer. The rooms are spacious, in great condition and smelled fantastic. If you want to have low key beach days this place fits the bill very nicely!

The Lobby was beautiful and spacious. the Beach was clean and had plenty of lounge chairs. The view from the balcony was sublime.
