Cuckoo Brow Inn

This little out of the way hotel is truly special. It was my husbands 50th birthday and we have been touring all week but the date of his actual birthday coincided with our stay at the Cuckoo Brow. Anyway the Chef got wind of this and decorated a lovely cake for my hubby adorned with personal greetings, really really nice plus the food is amazing, the room though quite small was spotless and the ambience of the place was first class. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice location and setting. The service unfortunately during breakfast times was a little awkward, a couple of the waitresses did not understand English very well, and mistook our order (twice), plus ignored while waiting to be served. However, main staff were friendly and helpful. Great for children dogs, but be aware that all corridor noise can be heard through the walls and floor!!!

Absolutely fantastic stay in the heart of the Lake District. We stayed for 2 nights, with two children and a dog. The room was perfect, the breakfast options were amazing, and the staff was the best! Great trekking trails right from the hotels, awesome dag-friendly environment, and a great bar and food for dining...what more could you want? Thanks Cuckoo Brow Inn!

Wonderful place with amazing staff. Tastefully decorated in keeping with the area. Our 'doodles' Lily and Laika were made extremely welcome and loved all the attention and treats they recieved. Food was great ....nice to see a well behaved dog under most tables. Mostly I appreciated James's thoughtfulness in upgrading our room to one with both bath and shower so I could have my longed for soak after a days walking!
