Location of the property is too far from town Quiet, very relaxing.View of the ocean is very amazing.Staff was very helpful when my friend got sick.They gave her medicine to ease her pain.Thanks.

Very cozy priv place magnif sea view from a cliff

We stayed with the family for a full week. The place is a bit aside from Alona beach, but I do not know if one really needs to be at Alona beach at all :) I would prefer not to go to Alona beach if one asks a recommendation. Especially because the hotel restaurant provides very good food and restaurant staff is superb pleasant. We had all our meals only at the hotel and enjoyed it every time. The hotel has access to the sea where boats can come to pick you. The hotel also has scuba diving partners shop at the hotel, so you get all diving services without any need to go anywhere else. The owners are always at your service and they will treat you very very well. They treated us very kindly: got suit upgrade, did all their best when electricity was cut, provided free breakfast as a courtesy, etc. The only thing for improvement is room maintenance (apart from suits, which are in perfect condition). Have a wonderful stay at Cliff Side Resort! You will enjoy it!

perfectly isolated

It is a bit of distance to Alona beach which is perfect. You get a motorcycle with the room at no charge so you can tool around where you want. The staff is beyond excellent, kind and helpful. The manager Jo-Jo is on top of everything. There are 4 new rooms 11, 12 13, 14 that are great. New new furnishings and KING bed is very comfortable. Its very quiet so you get lots of restful sleep. The food is also good, however not inexpensive, but then again is it always that way with Hotels?? If you desire a quiet isolated place...this is perfect.

Not what the rating said and the comments.

The beach is overlooking and for snorkeling just go down the steps. That much said their bed was uncomfortable there's a lot of bugs, ants all over the room. I have bed bugs all over my body the next day. Quiet because it's far from everything, need to asked personals multiple times for what ever I need. I do not know how to drive a bike and that's the only transportation free to get to the beach, if I want to go to Alona beach it will cost me from 200 to 300 pesos one way. Though I hired a cab driver to drive us around the tourist spot and he was very nice and reasonable not affiliated to the resort.

Nice hotel

This hotel has a great pool, awesome view and good staff. A little bit of a trek from Alona but no worries for a couple or single because of the free bike. The rooms could use a jazzing up, overall a good stay

Cliffside Serenity

Spent two restful nights at The Cliffside. Secluded and serene atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helped with transportation, provided me with an adapter for my laptop. A real nice vibe with the owner on site. Would stay here again

Great location - poor service

The resort is located near the famous but also noisy Alona Beach. Rooms are very nice and the pool clean and with a beautiful view over the ocean. Staff is friendly but not very "active", so if you need something (room cleaning, toilet paper, etc.) you have to tell them and they will do it. The new owners of the resort apparently do not focus very much on marketing, so that it might be a challenge to find the place. Taxi drivers in Tagloban usually do not know the place, so bring a map or at least the phone number of the hotel. You can call the staff and they will explain the drivers how to get there. If you look for privacy and time to relax, this is the perfect place!
