No 11

Staff were incredibly friendly and service was great. Our bedroom was on the top floor (hard work going up all those stairs at 20 weeks pregnant), the bedroom was tiny, very poor lighting in both bedroom & bathroom which made applying make up etc very difficult. Unfortunately it felt like the small details were missing, No plug sockets by the bed for charging phones, no fridge in the room (we had to dispose of a drink as it needed to be refrigerated), one packet of biscuits on the coffee tray despite there been two guests, no conditioner in bathroom, glasses for water were tiny, one of our pillows was so hard we didn’t even use it. Breakfast on day 1 was great (full Scottish & the bacon pancakes), day 2 was not so good. Full Scottish, no bacon on the plate. And eggs royals, both poached eggs were hard which was a real disappointment and the hollandaise sauce has a thick buttery skin on which I ended up just scraping off and leaving with the other hard egg. However, great location, quiet and they allowed us to leave our bags on checking out which meant we could use our last day to explore more of Edinburgh. Just needed more attention to detail.

Lovely large, clean, comfortable, stylish room with a fab en suite that had a gorgeous free standing bath.

Bathroom, room, and beds were very nice however it was a bit noisy which I believe is due to the age of the property. Would not recommend if you are a light sleeper or have small children.

Stayed for 2 nights for my girlfriends birthday. Mainly used it as a base for exploring Edinburgh but did relax in the evenings in our room. Bed was incredibly comfortable, shower was great and breakfast was lovely. All staff we met were very hospitable. Would stay again.

Birthday trip away

Myself and my partner stayed just one night at No. 11 and could not fault it at all! The decor, the comfort, the facilities within the room, the staff, the breakfast… even taxis rang and on the doorstep within minutes for us - so helpful! We will definitely return; thank you for a gorgeous stay :)

Lovely No 11

No 11 was great. From the very start at reception we were greeted by a friendly face who also gave us a lovely room (No 15). Some minor issues with the room - my pillow was a little thin and not great for sleeping, there was no mirror for drying hair, the hairdryer had a very short curly wire and the walk-in shower allowed the water to spill onto the bathroom floor. The bathroom had nice lighting, the room had a lot of windows, fresh windows and a small balcony but it was nice and dark to sleep in. The TV had Netflix and Amazon Prime but couldn’t work out how to get terrestrial TV. Not to worry, as we were in Edinburgh so no real need to be watching TV. Be aware during Covid it was very difficult to get into Pubs and restaurants so book in advance. The hotel is well situated just a little off Leith Walk. Breakfast was good and all the staff were great. Had a nice chat with George. All in all we had a great stay - very enjoyable.

Lovely stay in a lovely boutique hotel.

We have stayed in Edinburgh on many occasions and in different hotels. The staff really make this hotel special. Really helpful! Food was really a treat from the wonderfully cooked and presented breakfast to the two coarse dinner we had which was fab. Will definitely return.
