Caberfae Peaks Ski & Golf Resort

A very nice, very clean location located in the woods of northern Michigan.

Clean, economical, would stay at this hotel again.

Years ago, we came here on our senior class trip. It was good to see Caberfae again. The hotel rooms were clean and spacious. The two table lamps kept the room dim.The beds were not so comfortable. The sound from other rooms and hallways carried. The 10 o'clock check out time got us up and out to view the beautiful surrounding vistas.

There are less than 40 rooms at this resort which is nice. However, having no elevator and having to climb to the third floor with luggage and a cooler is not convenient. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms. Had to call from my own cell phone to get WiFi password since I was not given it at check-in.

Caberfae is not the Ritz, it's not Crystal Mountain - it's a comfortable, up north lodge that is family friendly and comfortable. Know what you're getting and then just enjoy. They keep the pool warm and hot tub going for a warm up in the winter months. Kids enjoy it and can be pretty independent. Rooms are decently clean and comfortable. Things are casual and economical. You can bring your own crock pot for the day and plug in at the lodge. Makes things easy and affordable.

The fact that there was no microwave or refrigerator was disappointing. We brought food for the weekend but had to keep it in our car to stay cold. And if you don’t eat there you have to drive about 30 minutes to eat anywhere else. Walls were thin. Every time someone would close a door it felt like our whole room was shaking. Overall cleanliness was good.

What makes this place great is, with few rooms, it's not crowded. That makes it feel very homey. The skiers in our group love the slopes and the non skiers love the lodge and hot tub.

We had a wonderful time at a wedding there. Rooms were Very very clean. Staff was awesome, venue was really cool, food was awesome. Smaller wedding, intimate setting. Had a great time. Would recommend.

Would have liked more options for dining and breakfast

Returned to our room from a wedding, opened the door, and a strange inebriated man was laying in bed watching television in the room we had checked into earlier that afternoon! The staff could not explain how or why the man had a key to our room. After making sure that none of our belongings were missing, we were so appalled and traumatized by the serious mistake that instead of staying the night in the room, we opted to drive 3 1/2 hours home instead.
