Discovery Lodge

Great spot for a weekend visit to RMNP.

The reception staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. I picked this spot because all of the rooms open directly to outside, so I didn't have to worry about sharing hallways/door handles with other people. (Seemed a little more covid safe than a standard hotel.)

Please expand office hours.

I have stayed here multiple times, and I do love the coziness and the views. I was glad the hot tub was open (it's outside). The one issue I have is the office is only open 7am-7pm, and there's no service due to covid. The no service doesn't bother me, but the office opened after we left in the morning and closed before we got back. This meant we were out of coffee, cups, towels etc. They say there is a off hours service line, but it's for maintance only and the guy was very rude on the phone.

I recommend finding somewhere else to stay.

The shower would randomly turn off and go from boiling hot to ice cold and was awful. Also the lamps by the bed were flashing on and off like strobe lights. I told the desk guy about it and he rudely said “if you don’t like it then you can stay somewhere else”

Very comfortable 2nd floor room with a lovely view. Office staff helpful and friendly. Parking lot could have a little better lighting and improvement.

Beautiful cozy spot in Estes Park!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Discovery Lodge! Cozy room with a balcony that overlooked the beautiful snowy mountains. The staff was incredibly friendly and let us check in early. We booked very last minute as we were just passing through Estes Park. Wish we could’ve stayed another week!

This was by far the best hotel I've ever been to. Very kind service, immaculately clean rooms, gorgeous views and interior, they have a hot tub open to the guests, you get your own porch/patio attached to your room AND they even have shampoo and body wash dispensers in the bathrooms. I paid $152 for 2 nights and this is the nicest place I've been to in the 8 states I've visited. You won't be disappointed with discovery lodge. Its amazing. Will definitely come back.

The room was decorated beautifully in log-cabin style furniture and paintings. The bed was very comfortable. The room did not have a hair dryer. They are dog friendly, but do not allow you to leave your dog alone in the room, so you would either have to leave your dog in your car when at a restaurant, or find a restaurant that allows dogs on the patio, which is a cold experience in the winter time :) Otherwise a great place to stay.

Last resort resort.

The entire trip was supposed to be an afternoon with friends. We called the clerk and asked about covid restrictions and if any road were closed due to wild fires. He assured us that every road into town was open. We drove 3 hours only to get 45 minutes away and have to turn around. 7 hour trip to get to the lodge and by then, it was dark, our friends had left, and we couldn't change the booking to another hotel because we had to wait until Monday to get a manager approval. When we arrived, we noticed a huge sign in front of the lodge saying that the road we were traveling on was closed. The clerk knew it the whole time! Sheesh. Customer service is dead. This was our "free night" for being a silver member. I think this is my last time using hotels.Com
