Carmel Green Lantern Inn

Super clean!

It was an ok stay. Service was excellent. Very pricy for such a small place. I get it, it’s an old inn and the outside was very nice, but The inside seemed a little ran down. Parking is horrible but the gentleman whom checked us in was very helpful about giving me a spot to park. Very much appreciated on that topic.

It’s a very worn out inn....chipped paint on furniture, doors, exterior. Old carpet & dusty old lamps. Fireplace is unusable with warning signs posted. We stayed there because we needed 1 unit with 2 bedrooms and very few available In Carmel. 2nd bedroom was a loft with low ceilings & rafters that you WILL bump your head on. Stairs were very small, narrow, steep and dangerous. Not fit for children or elderly. Upstairs bed was old & felt like a board. Very uncomfortable. Bathroom is old & needs work. Water pressure not good in shower because half the water comes out of the tub faucet with only some water coming out of the shower head. Parking is limited as it’s mostly street parking. No A/C or good ventilation and it got hot inside, even in October! They will provide you with a fan. The one bright spot was the gentleman at the front desk who was very nice & knowledgeable.

The inn is very cute and the service is generally good. I stayed in a pet friendly room, which ended up being up two flights of stairs (hard for my elderly, terminally ill dog to do). I think they try hard to clean the room (as it smelled like Lysol for most of the stay); however, the carpet did smell like pee from a former, for-legged guest. Overall the place is charming and in great proximity to the ocean and to town. That being said there could be improvements on cleanliness and comfort.

We were pleasantly surprised! We had the best time. We loved our room, the breakfast was amazing and the people were very nice! We really enjoyed every minute of our stay at the green lantern inn and we want to come back again.

I liked that the rooms stay vacant for 24 hours before next check in.

Near the beach and shops, clean and we were not bumping into other guests. Our room was a bit small and furnishings are older, walls are thin but overall we had a pleasant stay.

We loved it! Staff was so kind and sweet. The breakfast was amazing, probably the best part. The beds were so cozy, I never wanted to get up and start the day. Only hiccup was they forgot to clean our room after our first night. But they fixed that the next day!

Charming little B&B in the heart of Carmel. Was very happy with our room. Very clean.
