WE Hotel Jeju

Aweso hotel!

It was a unique hotel to say the least. Focused on healing, peace, and serenity, it was in located in the mountains with plenty of natural plants and trees which added to its ambiance. There was a decent sized park in which the hotel offeres tours of it every morning whcih taught the guests about the different types of plants and trees as well as some history of the hotel and jeju island overall. The swimming pool was gorgeous with a beautiful waterfall. One of things that surprised me was that the hotel essentially had a full-on hospital in it including plastic surgery, part of their "medical tourism" efforts.

Great rooms with stunning views

We loved the room and the view we had from our room. The forest routes and parks were awesome and relaxing. The only downside was the damage in the room from the downpour but the manager and staff took immediate actions and sincerely apologized. Would definitely consider going back on our next visit to Jeju~

Nice getaway in Forest

Overall, it was a pleasant stay at WE. The staffs were friendly and the service was good. Breakfast was fine, but dinner was a bit disappointing. Wish they could improved the food quality at the restaurant. Also, the indoor swimming pool temperature was not warm enough. I saw the same comment in the reviews before my visit too. But obviously the hotel still didn’t pay attention at that. This improvement is necessary and important, especially for anyone who considers to stay at WE in Winter time!

World class Spa and service

Great hotel in stunning surroundings, the staff were excellent and really friendly and so hopeful and some speak really good English, they helped us book taxis and arrange trips. The hotel is great and high class, the food was nice also but a bit limited and quite pricey. The Spa was unreal, we had the Aqua treatment in private domes pool which is heated and a combination of massage and stretching under water led by a masseuse, you float about listening to music and it’s one of the best treatments we’ve ever had. The pool is lovely too and the gardens and roof top bar are worth a visit. Hotel is a bit isolated but very peaceful and about 15 minutes in a taxi to the town and beach

we chose this hotel over another luxury resort, Kensington because we thought it had even better water facilities but we were quite disappointed. Not only some facilities were under maintanence but most annoyingly there was an unexpected charge for almost everything. Given the high rate of the hotel and the relatively low amount of these fees, it would be much more advisable to include them in the room rate. This way however we felt rather cheated especially because none of these fees were stated on the booking site. On top there were quite a few conceptual/architecture mistakes: for a hotel that claims to be in the middle of a magic forest it is rather silly to have the restaurant and some of the rooms looking over a busy parking lot!!! They could have put staff quarters or utilities rooms on this facade of the building and have the restaurant and all the rooms facing the amazing forest view. As for the Finnish sauna it was so big that the heater could not heat it up properly, it was hardly warm inside, again another conceptual mistake made by someone who have never used a Finnish sauna before. Not to talk about operation hours, for a place where there is absolutely nothing else to do, they could have kept the sauna open at least until midnight instead of closing it super early at 8.30pm. For this price we would definitely choose another hotel next time.

Quiet Retreat

This is the perfect hotel for getting away from the crowds and touristy attractions of Jeju. It is a bit isolated in the hills above Seogwipo and is surrounded entirely by forest and plants. Our room had a view of the top of Mt. Halla on clear days. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly, and will do whatever they can to accommodate your needs. It is good to have a car or available transportation, as the hotel is not walking distance to any restaurants in town. That being said, it is the perfect place to just relax and not worry about the stresses of life. The spa facilities are top of the line, but please note that if you plan to swim in the indoor pool it will require a swim cap. I was informed that this is a common requirement among Asian spas/hotels, but not something that Westerners may be aware of. Besides that, you can use the outdoor jacuzzi/pool without a swim cap. During our stay the jacuzzi was open but the pool was closed for the season. The jacuzzi was a great place to relax after a Mt. Halla climb. I would consider staying here again.

Good breakfast, nice pools and the room is clean. Comfortable stay but better to drive there to enjoy the excellent BBQ pork at its neighbourhood area.

Family friendly relaxing hotel

We had a very enjoyable stay at the WE (water and energy) hotel. My husband, my 3 year old daughter and I were well looked after - the staff were very kind and while we couldn't speak Korean we always managed to find an English speaker amongst them. Our room was spacious and came with a double bed and a single making it a perfect family room. The swimming pools (there are 4, two inside and two outside) were great - nice and warm for the little one, one shallow enough for her to walk in and lots of space. The hotel insist on swimming hats, like many places in Korea, but were able to sell us two for a minimal price (a couple of pounds). There was also the possibility to buy swimming costumes and inflatables if needed. The food was superb and we enjoyed a wide range of Korean foods. The chefs were happy to serve simply foods for the less adventruous 3 year old too. Breakfast was continental, cooked and Korean. The gardens are extensive and good for a walk about. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting other parts of Jeju island. Nearby is Mt Hallasan, in fact the hotel is part way up the moutain. There is access on the hotel side to 3 of the 5 ascent routes. Also Seoqwipo is a great city to visit but Jeju is not so large so many locations are easily accessible. We visited the Manjangul lava tubes, the beaches, Osulloc tea estate - all within an hour of the hotel with a hire car.
