If you are on a budget and need a place to stay this is a good alternative. If your parents dragged you around on road trips in a station wagon back in the 70s or 80s then you will be familiar with this type of mom and pop style motel. If you weren't around in the 70s or 80s than think of it as a place Sam and Dean would stay in Supernatural but not quite as cool. It is a decent place to stay at an affordable price. They allow pets and the owner is friendly. If you are expecting a swanky hotel and don't take the time to research what the motel is and leave bad reviews, then you are a schmuck. The owner is very responsive, if you call and leave a message you will get a call back. If you are planning on spending your money and time on activities instead of a place to crash then book with confidence; especially if you have a doggy with you.

No hot water

For the most part, this cheapie motel was what I was after: simple and functional. With one glaring exception: there is no hot water. The water is somewhat warm but far from hot. Taking a shower in such cold weather without hot water is a deal-breaker. Everyone should be aware of this.

I stayed here while visiting Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley) which was only a 25min drive. Good location between two restaurants, a 7-11 across the street, beach access across the street. Not only includes a microwave and minifridge, but had a sink and pots and pans and silverware and of course a coffee maker. Good internet speed and television. Great new quiet heaters kept room consistently warm and worked silently in the background. Proprietor "Ed" was very pleasant and welcoming, very hard worker keeping the property maintained and clean.

It’s run by a single person it seems. Cons: Place is not maintained with really dirty floors and everything else. Also we were there in the middle of a snowstorm and you really have to dig out your vehicle yourself, the hotel has no preparedness for snow. Cups, towers were replaced only after multiple knocks! Pros: Mixed bag experience but i am glad to have dodged the snowstorm here! I hope Ed takes these feedback positively and improve - place due to it’s location has a lot of potential.

It was a great place to stay, the area around the location is beautiful and easy to get to the water. Also the staff is extremely nice and understanding. Also plenty of places to walk to eat and get a drink!! Definitely will be coming back again

Our stay was nice, the manager was really nice, the only complaint I have is that the beds were not very comfortable. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. Very nice sunrise on Lake Tahoe is literally right across the street. The 7-Eleven across the street was closed just about all night until 7 AM which was very inconvenient.
