Good City Centre Hotel

Business type hotel close to the city centre. Easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Room was spacious and functional. Complimentary breakfast offered a good range of options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was lovely but the bathroom had not been cleaned as someone had left a broken cup and a spoon in the toilet. The bin had also not emptied. Although housekeeping came and sorted in within about 35mins. Other than that all was okay.

Better value for money available in BCC

We ended up walking out after 10 minutes. When we arrived, the receptionist said to her colleague "we don't have a room for them", and needed to get a senior colleague to sort it out. The room we were given was on the ground floor by the common area (not sure why a city centre hotel on a main road has ground floor rooms). The room itself was not clean. The sink and counter was marked and not clean, the bathroom floor was sticky with residue left around the skirting. There were dirty mop marks on the metal trim between the bathroom and hall. The dresser had stains and marks down it. The wall and mirror had several dirty handprints along it, while the room as a whole smelled a little damp. As a minor point - the sofa is basically just a hard board with zero comfort. We ended up staying at a better, cleaner, more comfortable and central hotel for only £5 more. We decided not to try and change rooms because we doubted there would be any better considering there seemed to be a shortage of rooms

amazing

really awesome. stayed two days for my birthday and it was brilliant. super clean, right in the center of town with amazing facilities. breakfast was amazing (get the blueberry muffins- it’ll change your life they were *so* good, and FREE !!). the gym was really great too, amazing equipment and was empty apart from myself and my friend 8-9am. my only issue was a machine by the door to work arms. the machine had two handles that you were supposed to hold and move. the handles were made of rubber and had all sorts of collected sweat and skin stuck in it which was really gross. but- other than that *one* machine. it was absolutely fantastic. 100% recommend

Pleasant stay

A good overall stay, staff were friendly and the hotel was well situated for the city centre! The room was clean, however felt outdated. Also the shower did not drain quickly this meant you could only shower for 5-10 minutes before the water level was higher than the shower tray flooding everywhere! Never the less was a pleasant stay and would recommend if you’re visiting the city centre.

Somewhere in between

We didn’t find much wrong with the hotel itself only that other people staying thought nothing wrong of getting together in one room and chatting until 4am. You could hear it all and they were in the room opposite us. Doors slamming. Very noisy. Pipe work is very noisy aswell. I could hear the showers running, toilets being flushed. Not the best nights sleep.

New room was excellent. Perfect location for our needs. Courtesy from staff and tremendous breakfast selection. Oh and a very reasonable price. Will definitely use again.
