Soap bars had already been used. I arrived around 12:30 and was rather rudely informed that the occupant still hadn’t vacated. She suggested I return in one hour. At approximately 1:45 with a condescending voice indicated that the person supposed to clean the room was on a lunch break. It appeared that she was talking about herself in the third person as she ate what could have been her lunch.

Beautiful little spot on the hill surrounded by tropical plants. Cheryl was welcoming and attentive. We only stayed one night but it felt like home. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Upon arriving to Guava Grove - more than a day late because we took Spirit Airlines - Cheryl, the owner and manager, came right up and greeted us in the most friendly and personal way. After showing us to our perfectly lovely and comfortable room, she offered to cook us dinner (try the nachos!) - a service I did NOT expect. We absolutely loved spending hours sitting half-in-the-water on the bar stools in the swim-up bar, enjoying drinks and pleasant chats with the wonderful few people Cheryl employs. After spending our first 10 days in Honduras staying at Guava Grove and catching cheap taxi rides to West End for scuba diving, we didn't want to leave but had reservations in the more tourist-dense West End. We immediately regretted leaving Cheryl's hospitality, the serene environment of her property, and the amenities she offers. We had booked all our lodging for a month in advance save for the final several days, which we were glad to be able to spend back at Guava Grove again. The air conditioner worked well, as did the gas stove and refrigerator. Guava Grove actually has its own water well from a much cleaner source than most parts of Honduras, with a septic system, so you can actually drink the water and flush toilet paper!!! Those are huge and rare things to find! So my advice is definitely to avoid staying in West Bay or West End - save some money and have a much more friendly experience at Guava Grove! I will definitely want to stay there on my next visit to Roatan!

I enjoyed very much, staff was very friendly, owner made me a nice Super lunch with shrimp and Alfredo pasta, the first day I came over from a long trip. Place was nice and clean. Great location. A positive feedback: a stronger wi-fi radar will be very nice.
