Residence Inn Cedar Rapids South

The room smelled nasty, there was oly 2 towels in the suite we had, the tub stopper was broken so giving my little one a bath was difficult. The rack that they keep the conditioner, shampoo, and body wash was in was broke off the wall. The bathroom door wouldn't shut and latch all the way.

Mask rules weren't enforced. There were signs that masks were required but guests were walking without them directly in front of staff. Free breakfast food had mostly run out by our second morning...milk, fruit and yogurt were all gone. At first glance the room was very nice. Once we settled in we noticed broken door knobs, leaking water, loose baseboards, outlets that didn't work.

I really liked the set up of the room, it was very comfortable. I was a little upset with cleanliness of the shower. There was hair in the shower. There was a broken coffee cup, which didn't not it was broke until I used it, and coffee leaked every where. It was cracked all the way down the handle. The dishes where still in dishwasher so was not sure if clean or not so rewashed them. The bed was very comfortable and again really liked the set up of the room. Also fridge was turned on high so it froze everything we put in there.

Convenient location and spacious rooms, but room was not as clean as expected when we checked in.

The rooms were suitably furnished for the space, but it would have been helpful in a room that sleeps 4, to have seating and table space for four, especially under COVID-19 situation. And: if you're going to tout your breakfast, make sure you have enough breakfast for all your lodgers for both days of the weekend.

Signs were posted that masks were required in common areas. Only about half of the staff and about 10% of the guests were wearing masks.

Clean, new, near places to eat as well as downtown

Tv had no signal. Front desk gave me number of cable provider and I needed to call their cable provider and have the cable box rebooted. ( no, not kidding) The number went to a recoding ( July 4th evening) . Promised call back never came. Then no one at front desk!!! WOW

This was my 2nd stay at this hotel within 2 years and it was less than desirable this time. Specifically the lack of cleanliness. The floors in the lobby, elevators and bathroom in our room were bad. The hallways looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in a while either. Also, the back of the hotel where smoking is allowed was not kept up. The grass was so long weeds were as tall as me and trash was not picked up. I was extremely impressed with my first stay but due to the lack of cleanliness on my 2nd I will be making another selection on my next trip in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.🙁
