Bad experience

Very bad experience, unfriendly stuff, badrooms in the basement with no window, we were charged three times more that we already paid to get normal room. And tomorrow they called us to say that we have to change that room with bad attitude and arrogance . We do not recommend this hotel to anyone

Great place

Comfortable and pleasant place to stay with well furnished, spacious room, helpful staff, decent breakfast and good wifi. It's a great location too: up the hill to Istikial St and Taksim Square or down the hill to the Bosphorous and the old city, and the Galata Tower is about 7 mins walk away,

Average place to stay, not a real hotel

The rooms are very clean and the staff people are helpful. However, the "hotel" is very hard to find even by taxi drivers. It is almost in the middle of no where. To go to any interesting place, you definately need a taxi as walking up a steep hill is a terrible experince, especially with children. There is no elevator and you have to go up a relatively steep, curved staircase. there is no breakfast buffet. Rather, each guest gets a plate that has 1 boiled egg, 2 slices of white cheese, 2 slices of yellow cheese, 2-3 slices of tomato, 2-3 slices of cucamber, black olives, honey/jam/butter and coffee/tea.

Terrible customer service

Booked a room online. Waited a fair amount for someone to check me in. When someone finally came they told me my room was full and that the price online was cheaper than what it should be. They offered me another room for an extra charge, which was quite significant. I had to find another hotel late at night as a result.

Good location, quality of service and nice room for the price. Everything was walking distance from the hotel. The ocean is 5 minutes walking from the hotel as is Taksim Square and Galata Tower. Finding the hotel was a little difficult so make sure the taxi driver uses Google Map before leaving the airport. But it is easy to get to once you have arrived.

nice, clean family hotel in creepy alley, no view

Don't be afraid when you turn down the alley. The location is actually very convenient and close to a metro stop and within walking distance to nice restaurants and shopping. Do not, however, try to walk the back alleys....creepy!!! Looks like there was a fire and buildings are deserted with homeless guys in them, but you're fine if you stick to the main road. Staff was friendly...especially the manager. BEWARE if you are traveling with children they charge 10euros per night for anyone between 3 and 17. All adults are included in the given price. The room was very nice, plenty of room. Breakfast is okay one day, but wouldn't want it twice in a row.

Great view from the top floor

Friendly and helpful staff. Pretty good breakfast, with the full variety of a typical Turkish breakfast and the option of an omelette. Our room had a sweet view of the water from the top floor, but the lower floors probably have pretty sucky views since the area has some junky buildings. If you try to get there by foot instead of taxi, be warned that Emekyemez Sokak ends in a big hill of asphalt chunks, which we had fun climbing with luggage. :/ Other than that we had a great experience. Very close to Galata, Istıklal Caddesi, and the Şişhane metro station, which was very convenient. Not far from Karaköy either. Of course the hotel was pretty tiny like most in Istanbul, and there was no elevator. But if you get the "quadruple" room like we did, it's a good size with a couch and chairs and a "king size" bed, which is more like a queen size bed to the rest of the world. Great value with the Expedia discount!
