Sopwell House

We had a wonderful night at Sopwell House. We usually stay at the Grove in Hertfordshire however it was fully booked. The cleanliness of this hotel was excellent especially during Covid and we felt safe. The food was delicious with a varied menu in the Brasserie and all staff were wearing masks. The spa has been renovated and was beautiful. The only downside was that we couldn’t use the spa the following day after we checked out whereas we could in the Grove. We would definitely go back again.

Lovely 2 night weekend stay, great food and helpful staff. Room was very spacious, though abit dark due to location in the building. Be sure to ask for a reasonable window view on booking as the hotel is surrounded by beautiful green space - we got stuck overlooking the car park and there was no availability to be moved

Had a lovely stay at Sopwell House. Room was really clean everyone was very helpful and friendly and they all worn masks at all times. Enjoyed the wonderful spa and delicious dinner in the evening. Look forward to staying again soon.

We stayed at Sopwell house for 2 nights (25Aug to 27Aug-2020) in room 258. This was our first hotel stay in months because of Covid19 and regretfully it wasn't pleasant at all! The room we got was in front of the laundry room and there were two laundry trolley outside our room from morning till evening - this was a real disappointment to get such a room after paying so much!!We were happy to see all staff members were following health guidelines, but the level of service was not to the par. For instance, we wanted to do breakfast in our room on the 27th morning and left the breakfast leaflet on door nob at 11 pm the night before for breakfast slot of 9:15 to 9:30 am.  But apparently no one picked the breakfast leaflet from our room (not surprised because of all the laundry trollies around our room!). Then I went to the front reception at 9:30am (after realizing the leaflet was still on the door) where I was assured we will get the breakfast in the next 10-15mins (breakfast was porridge/cereals - nothing complicated). But we got the breakfast delivered to our room at around 10:30 am (which was after making multiple chaser calls to front reception and room services). We had our SPA treatment booked for 11am the same day. So we had to rush eat breakfast then show up to SPA room for a massage with our belly full!! This is not the level of service we expected from such a hotel and wouldn't dare coming back or recommend to anyone after such experience.

Friendly staff from reception to restaurant to all around the hotel. Really good SPA facilities. Enjoyed the stay overall and would definitely return again in the future.

The service throughout our stay was mediocre to poor at almost every point. Not in line with other hotels of that calibre that we have stayed at. Rooms are also very tired. But the communal areas of the hotel, including the spa, are very nice.

It was such a lovely stay . It was my daughter birthday so we stayed with her best friends. Staff where above & beyond helpful. The hotel was spotless clean . The food in brasserie was amazing top quality. I beautiful hotel highly recommended it . Wish we could have stayed longer .
