Wilderness at the Smokies - Stone Hill Lodge

Everything was great minus the beds. The mattresses are outdated and extremely uncomfortable.

Great place. Fun.

Stayed at Stone Hill Lodge - staff was friendly and room was clean. However, we did not have the best view ... a large orange construction lift was parked right outside our window and obstructed any view we would have had of the mountain/River Lodge. I did inform management the morning of checkout and they kindly offered us a complimentary breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The other problem I expressed was the fact the fitness room was closed due to COVID YET both arcades and the Indoor Waterpark was open and operating at full capacity!!! This makes ZERO SENSE TO ME!! There was no one on staff going around sanitizing the arcade games after each use so what is the point of closing a fitness facility due to COVID Concerns at a hotel that operates 2 arcades and an indoor waterpark??? Again, Staff was friendly and manager offered a free breakfast for "our trouble"

My family and I had a great stay like the other times we have stayed. But during this stay we were disappointed that some of the guests down in the water park could not hold their alcohol. There was a guy passed out drunk on the floor near the snack area while kids and others had to walk around him. Staff wouldn't do anything about it until he woke up and had puked on him self and they had to clean it up. They need to put a limit on the amount of alcoholic drinks they can serve someone. It's not a bar it's a family friendly place.

We had a great time playing in the indoor pools and eating. Our room was huge and gorgeous it was a special time.

The only thing I wish you gave greater discounts the more you stay or something

I was not impressed with this hotel complex. Don’t get me wrong there was tons to do, but I felt like the staff was just there. I had a great checkin, but after that the rest of the employee interactions were not enthusiastic. My room was average to below average. Bathroom was way too small. I did not like that we did not really have room service. We took our trash out and exchange towels. Covid or not, this could have been done differently. At least ask if we need anything. The vents in our air conditioning need to be cleaned badly. It is not posted every well when things close and open.

The gentleman at check in was excellent. All staff members were excellent. The beds were super comfy. Plenty of pillows,covers and towels for our party of 7 Rooms were super clean but the hallways had food on the floor from where I guess little kids walk through with chips and candy. The water dome wave pool area also had several bandages and masks floating at the edge of the water at times which was really gross.

The hotel was very clean. However, most of the vending machines didn’t work on each floor. The people above us stomped and yelled most of the night. I was told that quiet time was between 11-7 and that nothing could be done before then. Not even a phone call. I called after 11 and they still did nothing. I was very unhappy with the customer service experience. The water park was very nice and included in the stay. That’s about the only plus.
