Great for the business traveller. Spacious and clean room. Gym isn’t huge but adequate for a quick workout. Other hotels in Ljubljana have better breakfast service.

Although this hotel scores well in each of the individual categories for me, my overall rating is not good given the experience I had. I was supposed to stay there for 3 nights. However, for the first night I was moved to another hotel due to an undisclosed issue with my room. I was subsequently returned to the Intercontinental for the last 2 nights of my stay. Not ideal given that meant I was separated from my team for 1 of the 3 nights of this teambuilding trip. To be fair the logistics of the transfer was handled well and I was upgraded as compensation...What I don't understand is why this was all handled by Hotels.com and not the hotel itself. I did receive a brief email from the hotel notifying me of the issue AFTER I had been directly contacted by the Hotels.com team. In such a scenario I really think the onus is on the hotel management to call the affected guest to explain what went wrong and the details of how it will be rectified, an email is not good enough and I am not sure I will be back.

The hotel follows high standards and seeks to address all the wishes and needs of the demanding clientele. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, especially the bathrooms are really fine. The service is great, all the processes were smooth. The furniture is a bit basic and the chair doesn't fit the desk, making it hard to use with a laptop/documents for work. Also, the lights could be easier to control individually, not with a general switch, but I think that's standard for energy saving and convenience. Elegant and sophisticated hotel, with some potential for improvement regarding the functionality at this price point. Still, great experience!

We stayed 1+6 nights at the hotel. The staff handed an invoice to us when we checked out and she told us that she will charge my credit card for my stay at the hotel. I told the staff that I have already paid for my 7 nights but she said I have not paid. I told the staff firmly again that I have already paid everything and she replied that I only paid for the first night and have not paid for the remaining six nights. I told the staff for the third time that I paid for all nights through hotels.com and I was ready to show her my payment confirmation. The staff then finally said she will check on the system and that was when she said that we have fully paid everything. She then marked down my credit card number on a piece of paper and said she will not charge my card. Whether a customer has paid or not paid for their room is the most important issue in the check out process and there cannot be such a mistake in a hotel. Yet, I have to explain myself three times very firmly that I have already paid, otherwise I would have been double charged. This is the first time that we had such an experience in a hotel. I advise all customers who are staying at Intercontinental Ljubljana to be cautious when settling payments with the hotel to make sure they are not double charged. Safety hazard - The shower doors had big gaps and so lots of water would easily flood out. We had to put all our towels in front of the shower door to soak up the water every night.
