The Golden Crown Hotel

A palatial hotel, with awesome staff and delicious food! We were welcomed with Kandyan drummers and delicious fruit juice to quench our thirst. Then we were shown to our room, a junior suite,750 sq. ft of luxury! The infinity pool is beautiful and sitting outside by the bar with the breeze blowing was heavenly! Ravi at the restaurant was very helpful and attended to all our needs.

Its comfortable beautiful setting . Restaurant is superb wiith the pool and good music. Road to the hotel is really bad. The room is not sound proof. Woken up around 1am with people talking aloud. The bathroom wash basin is too high and hard to reach for people who are under 5 .1 feet tall.

Gorgeous hotel. Our favorite stay in Sri Lanka. Clean beautiful design, delish food, nice pool and view.

Good property. Lobby is great, pool is wonderful and the buffet restaurant is also good. Our room had a nice view of the mountains and was on the 4th floor. 1st night was noisy as there was a party going on the 5th floor. Water flow in the sink was very slow all through our stay. We didn’t though complain about it. The property is some distance from Kandy lake.

We were welcomed at the entrance by Saranwya and her colleague. We were offered some juice which was refreshing after our long journey. They were both so friendly and walked us all the way to our rooms with smiles on their faces and reassuring us if there’s anything we need, just to ask. We walked out of the hotel with only positive words to speak of the amazing and hardworking staff. They made it a memorable stay for us ! From the doormen to the restaurant staff ; all were very hospitable and quick to respond. The manager was so very thoughtful asking about how my moms knees are and giving us water as we waited to leave. The buffet was okay I’m not sure about how fresh the food is as my sister and I got really sick our last night . Vomiting , fever and to the bathroom. We fell so ill, we had to request a late checkout & delay our next destination. We are still not feeling well. There was a big pizza like bread that looked rotten to me but a person there said it was cheese (it was fuzzy and had fungus) thankfully, it was removed. All in all, I can highly recommend staying here but do not recommend the food.

Everything was perfect, I enjoyed the food and the staff were so friendly and helpful and they always smiling. It was a good experience
