A Perfect Place to Stay in Kumamoto.

First of all, you must understand that this is a business hotel and what that means in Japan. So, yes the rooms are small but compared to other business hotels I have stayed at, they are actually a bit larger. Bathrooms are tiny, but this one had a tub whereas the others did not. Green Rich is clean. The staff is ready to assist. Their English may not be great, but when I had trouble figuring out the AC control, one of the staff accompanied me to the room to explain it. That's customer service! Breakfast was fabulous. Well worth the amount charged. Everything was freshly prepared and in large quantities. Is it a "bacon and eggs" kind of breakfast? No, but it is an outstanding Japanese one. Location is perfect. The hotel sits across the street from the street car and a bus stop is less than a block away. There is a beautiful park just behind the hotel with walking paths throughout. To "seal the deal", the price of the room was very reasonable. Despite what others have said in their reviews, this is a perfect place to stay in Kumamoto City.

Hotel location is right by the bus stop ver convenient. It’s a basic business hotel with good price. The complaint that I have is the cigarette smell in the room. I asked yo change the room the second day and was switched to a room with a stand alone AC. The smell condition improved.

The furnitures are old and smelly. The room is dusty. Air cond is not cold. Location is good as tram station is just in front of the hotel.

Many people say the rooms are tiny, and yes, they are small, but they are not too inconveniently small. I actually quite like the layout. The location of the hotel is perfect: 15 steps away from a convenient tram station (from which you can easily go to the biggest shopping district in Kumamoto), and a few minutes away from the famous Suizenji park. I could see the park from my room and I really liked it. I think the price of this hotel is great considering the location of it.

Small and not family friendly room.

The room was absolutely tiny, we used a triple room. We had to climb over 2 beds to get to the inner most one, and there was no walkway. There was also no proper place to put our luggage, we took turns to open and close our luggage. There were also no convenience stores nearby.

Great service

The hotel is close to suizenji park and there is a tram station right in front. The staff were really helpful and speak english. We forgot a bag in a bus we took and the staff helped us call the bus company and we got our bag back.

Overall good place to stay.

Fairly good compared to the price. Great breakfast meal, worth more than the price. Location is good enough: right in front of the tram station, and 15-min walk from the JR station. Staffs are friendly, and one of them could speak Korean well enough. There’s Suizenjikoen within 5-minute walk, which is a great place to visit.
